If you do not like gore, you hate nudity (although its human nature if you ask me when it come to nudity), you easily get offended, hate cursing, you will not like this movie. For what it is, its nothing special in terms of writing or story, although the movie does have a strange charm to it (thanks to Quentin Tarantino's involvement in the film). If you're a horror fan, chances are you will enjoy this movie. For me, its simply above average.

for horror fans, this movie is worth seeing, although you have to have a strong stomach. the first 40 minutes of the movie are filled with constant drugs, nudity, sex, and drinking. the movie gets pretty trippy after a while, because things start to seem very weird once their friend is missing. not to long later there is around 45 minutes of constant horrific torture. (a man pleads to let him leave so the bad guy slices the back of both of his feet and tells him to leave, the man tries to walk but it just splits his fees right open.) at other times a man has a ball tied to his mouth so he cant be heard but he is so horrified that he vomits, the puke has no ware to go so he chokes on it. you also see a women get a blow torch to the face, resulting in her eye hanging out and being cut from her socket. i think this movie is under rated because there is always so much hype about the saw movies and how theres nothing worse. i am telling you this movie makes saw look like wall-E. aside from all this bad stuff, it is interesting to think about how people could be so sinister to want to do such horrid things. i like this movie and you feel up for it then go for it, but keep in mind you probably have not seen anything as bad as this before in film

i mean seriously, who would pay to see people being ripped limb from limp by a chainsaw for more than 2 hours straight!? this movie should be banned, its far by THE worst movie ive ever seen. this doesnt deserve an R, it deserves a X

i love gory movies and the rest wasnt new after seeing all of the saw series and the storyline was well written

This is, in my opinion, a horror masterpiece! But that doesn't mean it's for everyone. I personally love these kinds of horror films (extreme violence and gore), but some people should consider the following. Many scenes in the movie can really disturb the faint of heart, as in one scene a girl gets her face burnt very badly with a blowtorch by someone who did it willingly and with intentions to hurt her. There's also graphic sex,language, and drug use. But it's up to parents to decide what's alright for their kids to see and if they could handle it. I can, and this certainly isn't the bloodiest or goriest movie I have seen, but it certainly is in the top 10. I'd reccomend this movie to fellow horror film buffs, and most certainly only if you're allowed to.

This movie was so sick it makes Saw look like a Chick Flick :D I love Slasher Flicks like this :D If you dont like anything Gorey or if you get sick easy or are afraid of people being killed DONT EVEN DARE PICK UP THE BOX

im 11 years old going to the movie theater and watching this movie was a mistake the brutal torture and nudity was disgusting i wouldnt say this movie is scary its more of a thriller but it would still give children nightmares i cannot believe there making a part 2 of hostel i bet its going to be worse this is definetly a bloody disgusting gorey movie and kids under the age of 17+ should not watch this i give it two thumbs down

boring, all the scenes are them going to clubs and crap. it has probably like 4 scenes of torture. NOT SCARY AT ALL. but really bad for kids
