Ice is Nice!
This is an entertaining and harmless family film, that a range of ages can enjoy together. There is some nice messaging about family and loyalty. A perfect weekend rental, or addition to a kid's DVD library. See me review it with my son on YouTube: "Gab and Max review Ice Age 3"!

My 3 years old loved it.
My 3 years old was laughing out loud since the movie started, we went to watch it twice because she loved it and lets face it there are not a lot of movies for young kids. Rex was a little scary for her though. The squirrels flirt a lot but there is nothing a kid shouldn't see.

Fun movie for the family, almost
We all saw this as a fmaily,e ven Grandma enjoyed it. But, my more senstive 8 year old had night mares about the dinosaurs that same night. So, although I think it's a great movie, I'd be sure you're kids like scary characters and can deal with peril.

Surprisingly fine for my young kids
We liked it AND the kids loved it. Even my 2y/o wasn't scared by the dinosaurs. The message on friendship is a good one. Mostly it's just fun entertainment for my toddler and preschooler.

I took my kids 4 and 8. Both loved it, and it was fun. We all enjoyed the new character "Buck". I'm disappointed in some of the sexual humor in the movie -- why must they include that? In addition to stuff already referenced here there is a scene where Mannie and Diego are being digested by a carnivorus plant. As the digestive juices rise, Diego says "oh, I'm all tingly" to which Mannie replies "don't say that when you are pressed up against me". Another reference later about a character "coming out". I'm sure most kids don't get the references, but they were just really unnecessary. The overall message was good. Sometimes families change (i.e. the introduction of a baby changes a lot), but in the end families (or the pack) stick together . . . and a family can come in many non-traditional forms. I also liked Sid's "mothering" of the dino eggs. Cute and sweet. Overall a good movie, just annoyed about the unnecessary sexual humor.

This is the first theatre movie our little one went to. He loved it. He's not even 3 yet, but sits through movies at home.

Loved it !!
We all loved it, Great movie. However the kids were a little disappointed they did not get to see more of the baby mammoth, it was near the end and they were using the insults towards Sid on each other on the way home but other than that it was a wonderful movie.

My kid had a blast but i had to explain a ton of stuff
My kid loves movies, still it has some scary moments. I found the moment when the characters get intoxicated worriing, because the message transmited is "ITS FUN BEING INTOXICATED, and there are are little or none consecuences to wrong doings and other stuff. And i could go on and on. Still i loved it and so did my kid, and helped me to explain some things to his level.

UGH!
I didn't really like the movie. I thought that they could've done better. I mean you have all these talking mammoths and other ice age creatures. But the Dinosaurs can't talk. That's dumb. The movie lasted way too long . And Just was not worth the money.

Good for kids age 6 and older who can handle "attack and chase" scenes by scary dinosaurs.
References to being fat and body image references were unnecessary and surprising.

I loved this movie allot. I recommend this movie for 6 year olds to 9 year olds.

Good family fun for 4 1/2 and up.
Most of the "sexy stuff" went over my 9-year-old's head, at least I think so. The other more gooey love stuff was funny to him. My 4-year-old was not too scared of the dinosaurs, but he is a passionate, fiery, (though sensitive) little guy, especially about dinosaurs. It might be scary for other kiddos his age though.

My sensitive 4 year old liked it and so did I.
My 4 year old is usually frightened by some Disney movies that we rent. I was a little reluctant taking him but he wanted to go. (This was his third time to a theater.) After we had seen it I asked him if he liked it and he said yes and that it was not scary.(the scary parts were brief.) There were parts in the movie when the dinosaurs were BIG on the screen and LOUD. I thought that he might jump in my lap but he didn't. He and I really liked it. Every child is different and will surprise us almost daily with what they like...I am glad we took the chance with this one. (The conserns were words like "stupid" ..."good stuff in front.") BTW we didn't see it in 3-D.

Extreme Gender Bias
My problem with this movie lies in the gender stereotypes it perpetuates. First, there are too few female characters. Second, the ones that are present are highly stereotypical. The female squirrel uses her feminine wiles to manipulate the male. Ultimately, she is rescued by him and, of course, falls in love. Once the two are "married" she turns into a bossy shrew and he longs for escape. Terrible messages all around. Then there is Ellie. I see that other people consider her a strong role model, and in many ways she is. She is brave and courageous. Yet she is held back from rescuing Sid the Sloth because she is having a baby. How convenient that the baby comes just as they are about to go on the most dangerous part of their mission, which keeps her out of the hero role - a situation that is all too common for female characters in kids' movies. What kind of message does this movie send about women? They are either manipulative vamps or beatific mothers who are strong enough to bear children but not qualified to be rescuers. On the male side, we have other stereotypes, namely the idea that men cannot talk about their feelings. Manny is very uncomfortable admitting how he feels about his friends. Ultimately he is shown to be wrong in this belief, but his discomfort never quite goes away. Very unfortunate. This film was funny and had lots of action, but it sends entirely the wrong message about gender.

Great fun for the whole family (ages 6 and up, that is)
We went to watch it with 6 kids, ages 6-11 and everyone loved it (the 6 year old was a little scared). The parents loved it as well, I think it's the best of the 3. I've always been bothered by the way the rest of the characters treat Sid, and I found it was toned down in this latest installment. I highly recommend it.

Good movie, but save 3D for older kids.
My almost 5 year old really liked it, although the "bad" guy was a little intense. We both laughed alot. I gave it 3 stars and rated iffy because the characters do spend a good deal of time in peril which is a little prolonged for little ones. I would NOT recommend the 3D version at this age as this would just highlight those aspects that were questionable.

I took my 5yr old son to see this & am not sure who laughed loudest & hardest - my son or me. This movie was great! I can't imagine anyone giving it only 3 stars (or whatever rating code). It was extremely funny, adventurous, had a great storyline & was just overall a great movie! I haven't been disappointed in any of the 3 Ice Age movies & think this is probably the funniest of the 3. I only said ages 4 & up because I'm not sure if a 3yr old would understand the humor - it's not sophisticated humor, just because a lot of it is fast-paced. I think pretty much any age would enjoy this movie!

Not a bad way to spend a rainy afternoon with my 7 year old, 3 year old, husband and grandparents!
We saw this movie as a family with my 7 year old, 3.5 year old, my husband, and my parents, both in their 60's. My 7 year old laughed her head off, and the grandparents laughed a lot too. They all appreciated the additional scenes with the acorn stealing squirrel and his paramour. My 3.5 year old only lasted about 3/4 through the movie and decided the bathroom with it's automatic sinks and paper towel dispensers were more interesting than the climax of the movie. He tends to leave the room at home when something on tv is bothering him (he hates any conflict, and can't even tolerate Chip and Dale cartoonish conflict... you know when they are always in jeopardy of losing their giant acorn stash?), so this behavior was normal for him and he hasn't had any nightmares or anyting. Overall, not a bad way to spend a rainy afternoon, but I would have been pooched if I didn't have three other adults with me to escort the 3 year old out when he needed a break from the show.

Ice Age 3 is hilarious, fun for the whole family and is even better than the first!!!
I saw this movie on the Fourth of July and it was hilarious, great fun for the whole whole family, and it is even better than the last two Ice Age films. This movie also has amazing animation , and it is even ( kind of) better than I thought. This movie is also in 3-D and if you don't see it in theaters or in 3-D you can rent it on DVD Tuesday, October 27th, 2009! I really recommend this movie for kids who have seen and/ or love the first two Ice Age films or for kids 6+.Thanks for reading my review on this really funny and fun film for the that is even better than the first two films and if you see it in theaters,or on DVD October 27th. I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did.

It Rocks!
Ok, I LOVE LOVE this movie, I think it's perfect for all ages-even teenagers! I don't reccomend it though, for kids under the age of 6. There is not as much action as I expected though, I saw it in 3D on opening day, I was disappointed that the 3D didn't go into lay too often. he action is fairly mild, there's just some physical humor(barfing, sucking up in nostrils, pooping). And there's some pregnancy-related jokes that will go over the heads of little kids.

Cut Out The Unnecessary Sex
Hello? Wasn't this supposed to be a kid's movie? Why were there all of the sexual jokes and references? The jokes would fly right over the head of a little kid, but for the school aged children this could raise some awkward questions.

Don't listen to everyone else reviewing it, best Ice Age yet.
In my opinion, the Ice Age movies keep getting better. Some sexual content may go over kid's heads. (why not his front, that's where all the good stuff is.) One thing: don't see it if your kids are still at the "talking during the movie" age. The little girls behind me wouldn't shut up, so I ended up giving them the Japanese "Finger".

Dont waste you're money on this movie, esspecially the 3-D version. The first ice age was good, the second bad, and this one... I'm not even going to say, it's just mumbo-jumbo stupidness.

Cute Movie! 6 year old loved it!
I loved this movie! I went with a 6 year old, and she loved it! The girl is mature for her age, and she understood the crude humor, but I'm sure it hasn't inspired any inappropriate behavior. She was not frightened at the fighting scenes, instead she laughed! I loved Buck! It is a really cute movie, and I recommend you see it with a friend (might be awkward with your parents).

Best Ice Age movie yet
It was hilarious. There were a few innuendos, but the younger kids won't understand them anyway. There is just one use of "d**m" when Buck is fighting Rudy, the ginormous dinosaur. I loved this Ice Age the most, and I'm hoping they'll make even better than this one.

ok, but not good
I can't believe that in a movie that is made for kids, they are shoving the gay agenda down their throats. Since when is it ok for this stuff to be shown to our kids? joke or not, I don't want my kids being exposed to gay media or gay slang or even something as mild as "he just came out of the closet" I was very disappointed with this movie.
