I fully understand the fact that they are just animals, but that does not mean that they have to add inuendo to them. I think that it would be wonderfull if there wern't any sex whatsoever in any movies, but since that won't happen because the world is warped, I won't worry about it. I so think that this movie is suited for a mature child(or teen) who fully understands that all the inuendo and vulgar speech isn't really neccessary to make an excellent movie. Over all, I thought the graphics were wonderfull myself.
i liked it a lot... i like all the ice age movies...
a scene where manny hints to ellie something... uh... quite inappropriate... IF they were human characters... but most kids will not catch this, and i skipped the scene when i showed it to my brother, with little interruption to the storyline.
great movie, quite funny in parts. my favorite line: "Hey! I can smell the ocean!"
This movie is the only ice age movie that is dull, probobly the only ice age movie that is lame and stupid. They use some swears such as "C--p, p--p, a--, s--k air, and b--f". Not even a story, just lame movie!
haa i love this so much. i love all the song sid made about the mammoths going extinct then manny yelling at him to shut up. i though it was funny.too great
The language and social interaction is unacceptable as a G rated movie, the sewer of Hollywood needs to wake up, stop feeding our children trash. Feed your garbage to your own children.
A child quotes that "Burros are actually called the Wild Ass." and Manny quotes "and so the Wild Ass boy returned to his wild ass mother!". There are also 2 Water Reptiles called Maelstrom and Cretaceous that want to kill the Sub Zero Heroes. Manny also meets a female named Ellie, along which 2 mischeivious Opossums named Crash and Eddie. Manny and Ellie have some flirting, where we learn Ellie is an "Orphan". Soon, Manny marries Ellie, but not before a dam breaks and floods the area! SCrat tries to bury his nut inside the dam, and the dam cracks and nearly rips our little squirrel in half. But he falls into the water, the water retreating. Then Manny and Ellie get married. THE END
Sex, any kind of swearing, covered-up crude words (butt, shut up) are never acceptable. I loved the first Ice Age. Call it the clean CGI movie. The second, however....it seems Blue Sky began to think like the other movie compatnies and try and stick in as much innappropriate material as they could. Blatant innuendo and a couple "donkey jokes." (Which aren't even funny.) What makes them think this improves sells? All I know is I'm not buying any more of Ice Age 2's products now. They just lost a customer.
Parents should realize that these movies can be just as dangerous as "adult" movies, since they're teaching kids at a young age that certain things are acceptable.
To cap it all, the story itself was not a tenth as good as the first. No cute baby.
I didn't like it as much as the first one, but it was still okay. They said the word "@$$" several times but that was a play on words with a burro. Maybe it's just me, but that seemed a bit over the top for a family movie. Other than that it was okay.
I was totally blown away by the language. At one point, one of the characters actually says - and emphasizes - the word "d***." Now, the context in the movie is referring to an actual dam that is about to burst, but the tone and usage of the word did not fit the context. Basically, a piece of ice broke off of the dam and the character (a beaver) turns around and emphatically reacts, "D***!" Unacceptable in our home!! Waste of money.
I really liked this movie! It had some FUNNY swear and you know what jokes! Like when the opposum yelled to many " PERVERT!" i loled so hard! Anyways on the part were manny was flirting with ellie, i really dodn't think the kids would understand that so the only issue is the language but if i ever stop thinking that having kids will ruin your life, then i'd probably let my kids watch! :)
First off...Manny said "Your breath smells like ANTS"...I know because:
#1 - He said it to an anteater.
#2 - I had my closed captions on and it said "...ants..."
Anyway, It's great movie for kids...I think it's better than the 1st one. Mild violence including Ice falling under characters, uncontentious characters, violence between Crash and Eddie, and two toothy fish eat a character etc.... Manny also finds a mate in this movie. I recommend this movie for kids ages 7+
This movie is extremely childish. It is for kids probably 9 and under. THere are crude jokes, and a terrible plot to the movie. The movie is actually quite boring and I would not reccomend it. If you do want to watch it, it will probably only entertain you if you 9 and under. Altogether it was a horrible movie and I wouldn't waste your time. I give Ice Age the Meltdown a d-.
There are great role models and positive messages in this movie. Younger kids shouldn't watch it due to the swearing, such as ass and crap. Manny hints a lot to Ellie about mating and younger kids probably shouldn't watch that. Some dangers, such as flooding, are in the movie as well. Other than that, this movie is great. Some lines are funny in the movie, such as Ellie saying "I'm not a mammoth for 5 minutes and you're hitting on me?". I LOLed at that a lot!!!
I was surprised by some of the language in this movie. My son is three and I have to watch this with him to skip over the "your breath smells like as* part. That is unnecessary for a kids movie. It's as if Hollywood can't WAIT to ruin our kids. Why can't a childrens movie JUST BE a childrens movie and not have to include jokes for the adults?
