The only truly good disaster movie
On July 2nd, communications systems worldwide are sent into chaos by a strange atmospheric interference. It is soon learned by the military that a number of enormous objects are on a collision course with Earth. At first thought to be meteors, they are later revealed to be gigantic spacecraft, piloted by a mysterious alien species. After attempts to communicate with the aliens go nowhere, David Levinson, an ex-scientist turned cable technician, discovers that the aliens are going to attack major points around the globe in less than a day. On July 3rd, the aliens all but obliterate New York, Los Angeles and Washington, as well as Paris, London, Houston and Moscow. The survivors set out in convoys towards Area 51, a strange government testing ground where it is rumored the military has a captured alien spacecraft of their own. The survivors devise a plan to fight back against the enslaving aliens, and July 4th becomes the day humanity will fight for its freedom

Delightful Cheese-Fest, is extremely corny but action-packed and entertaining.
Independence Day is a 1996 Sci Fi action film about Planet destroying aliens that arrive on earth and start to decimate it, with american government using their military to stop the attack.
LANGUAGE: 3/5 use of "S**t", "Bulls**t", "ass", "Schmuck", the aliens are constantly referred to as "Bastards", Son of a B*tch, "Goddamn", "dammit", Hell", "Crap", exclamations like "Jesus-Christ!", and "Christ on a bike!"
SEX: 2/5 One character is a stripper and is seen very briefly in a club wearing tight clothing dancing on a pole. sexual references to "butts", "booty's", teens make-out in a car and one says "do you really wanna die a virgin?", "a man is teased about claiming he was abducted by aliens and asked "did the aliens do... you know sexual things to you?", later on a news broadcast a couple men say "the aliens abused him", "sexually".
VIOLENCE: 3/5 extremely cheesy violence, with lasers and ships fight and blowing up, a famous scene were a man flies his airship into the aliens destruction weapon and shout "Hello boys.... I'm BAAACK!!" as the ship explodes. Aliens destroy a whole city killing loads of people. Autopsy on an aliens goes rogue killing, dismembering and choking to death several scientists. Will Smith punches and flips off an alien, the white house is blown up, aerial combat between human and alien resulting in lots of death, two characters shoot imploding bombs on an alien mother-ship and it explodes going all wonky.
Drinking Drugs and smoking: A father is drunk pretty much the whole film, two characters smoke cigars.
Positive Messages and Role Models: 3/5 the film promotes working together to save what you love and cherish, and sacrificing yourself for others. The government and military risk their lives to fight and save earth from evil aliens, a brave mother saving her child, dog and survivors of an attack, some very subtle stereotypes of Jewish and Gay people.
Cast: "Will Smith", "Jeff Goldblum", "Bill Pullman", "Vivica A. Fox", "Margaret Colin", "Randy Quaid", "Judd Hirsch", "Mary McDonnell", "Robert Loggia", "Harry Connick Jr.", "Mae Whitman", "Harvey Fierstein", "Lisa Jakub"
Director: "Roland Emmerich"
Overall good and entertaining, cheesy sci fi fun. 13+

I really good movie
This is a very good movie and a perfect movie for people who like will smith. There is violence, smoking, and language. some characters say bitch, shit. ass, bastard, schmuck, and misuse gods name. At one point a stripper is shown dancing on stage and when a character claims he got abducted people teasingly ask if they did any sexual things. a lot of people die but most of the time its not graphic or close up. There are lots of explosions and people die in the explosions. A character sacrifices himself to stop the aliens. The aliens might disturb younger viewers but they dont get much screen time. A alien kills a scientist and talks threw him. There is smoking. At one point teens do talk about virginity. This is a great movie for tween's and teen's will enjoy if there in action, comedy, sci fi stuff, and willsmith.

Such a Good Movie!
Independence Day is action-packed as Americans fight back against an alien race that is trying to eliminate the human race from Earth.
Violence: The aliens blow up cities and a lot of people die. The characters are in peril for the entire movie. A woman dies from a bleeding injury. A man's mind is taken over by an alien and suffocated. Scientists cut open an alien's face in an autopsy.
Sex: one character is a strip dancer; she is shown dancing once in a skimpy outfit. There are a few kisses in this movie. A few guys tell reporters that a man, who claimed to have been taken by aliens, was abused "sexually".
Language: Some profanity; no f-bombs
Drinking/Smoking/Drugs: people smoke cigars

Amazing! Just some age restrictions
The movie is highly violent and all kinds of bad words are used. There is some sex but I don't kids to watch this film. Otherwise, the movie is fantastic. It also promotes Stephen hawking's message on not connecting with any alien-like species. Good movie, my fav.
