I grew up watching all of the Indiana Jones films and loving them. Of course i was extremely excited to see this new film. Upon watching it I found myself extremely mad and disappointed. There was too much CGI and the plot was more ridiculous than any other film before it. As for content, I personally found nothing in here that a 10 year old wouldnt mind watching. overall its very mild and vanilla plain. In my mind this movie never happened and will never be on my shelf of films.
More of a Guys' Movie Than Anything Else With a Stupid Ending!
I thought personally that the ending was stupid and made absolutely no sense, and my daughter watch it when she was about 10 and liked the action but hated the deaths of the guy who gets consumed by the red ants and the lady with the guy who get crushed by a mill! (You can hear their bones crunch and screaming!) My daughter is pretty mature when it comes to violence but she just had to look away for those tragic deaths! In my opinion I think it is more of a guys movie than a girls' night out! :D
What can I say? It's classic Indiana Jones. Our entire family watched it and had a blast. Complete with silly one liners, predictable jokes and lots of action...how can you not love this movie? This one is (as always) visually appealing with an interesting story line. And you know what? Harrison Ford is still handsome :0)
I think this was by far the worst of the series, the story line was just ridiculous. My husband and I screened this for our 5 year old who was dying to see it (He'll be dying to see it for another 7 or so years) Though I didn't care for the plot myself, the level of scary moments seemed greater in this than most of the others put together. Just doesn't seem like entertainment for a younger crowd.
My 10 year old son and I watched it and really enjoyed it. Not too scary. Not too sexy. Good special effects. Stereotypes and caricatures as in each movie in the series. Fun.
I didn't expect much going to see the move and got nothing out of it leaving the movie. The plot is really poor if you think about it I mean Indiana Jones shouldn't be about some aliens. The only reason I gave the movie three stars was because some actions scenes were very fun to watch and it made a poor plot into an okay movie. But still not up to par with any other Indiana ones movies.
i thought this movie was good and it was a pretty good movie.the movie was long but it was worth it.shia lebouf and harrison ford put up great perfomances.
Very exciting movie, especially for boys. Less violent than previous Indy films and introduces young character that children can cheer for. Ants were a bit disturbing. Several deaths but no gore.
I have an 8yr old boy, who enjoyed Raiders & The Last Crusade. He really liked the action and special effects of Crystal Skull. However, the plot is narrated by Ford, giving away the upcoming events in the movie. Crystal Skull lacked intrigue/suspense of other films in the Indy Series. Lame and scarey (nuclear bombs, lots of warfare/guns, paranormal,
and aliens). Ford is a great actor, who got sucked into this commercial toilet bowl of a story. I can see Universal Studios Orlando designing a water ride around the movie theme..."duck" boats, aliens and 3 drops! Kids may like the movie, parents will be bored.
Much of this movie has to do with the soviet union, explain to them what "i like ike!" is otherwise they might make a fool of themselves laughing at what they think is a pun. But this is a wonderful movie for all ages 10 and up!
We got free sneak preview tickets to see this and were so excited! The movie was actually pretty cheesy though. The acting was simply not good and the concept of the aliens...just didn't work. It isn't terrible, and it certainly has some fun/funny spots, but it was just not what we had hoped for.
