love danger and advencher this will blow your mind away not my fav but it is a mix of nashanol tresher and pirets of the carebbean and a pinch of star wars but a cup of fun but deservs a PG-13 but grat movie but not famly fun
This is a very violent and bloody movie with nonstop violence some language. And excessive drinking. There is a very graphic gunshot scene where blood goes all over the place. Gret but not for younglings.
Wayyyyyy too much violence... a scene has it where indiana and marion are in bed...Indiana fighting Nazis....Make little boy costumes, which i think tells little boys to watch it... but i liked it
Violence (R): Lots od dueling with fire, guns, swords, and fists.
Sexual Content (PG):
It's clear Belloq wants to trick Marion into having sex with him.
Language (PG-13): Alot, even for a Jones movie.
The fighting in the movie is tame by modern day standards. In fact, the movie itself moves rather slowly. There is a lot of sword fighting, death, and the like but it's not actually that graphic. SPOILER ALERT: The part that sticks out that some 9 year olds won't deal well with is the whole face-melting scene when the ark is opened. My 9 year old tends to run away and hide when things get too scary or embarrassing, but his tush was firmly planted on the couch the entire time. Recommended.
Who cares if "all of the other kids" have seen it!
I wish I would have checked this site before watching this movie with my 5 and 7 year olds. Most of their friends had seen it and other mothers told me it was fine for my kids. Not so. My kids were scared by the "creepiness" which occurs when Indy is inside the tomb and at the end when the Ark is opened and people literally MELT. They were afraid to be alone for a couple of days after watching this movie. I felt like a fab parent. :(
Out of all the Indiana Jones movies this is my favorite. I also think that it had the 3 creepiest deaths in the entire seiries. 1)Face melting 2) Implosion 3) Explosion. All caused by looking when the ark was opened, freaky!
it was okay. The plot sounded cool but it was different than I expected. It was a little gorier than I expected. I think there was also too much violence for a PG (this is before they had the PG-13 rating but if they did I'd rate it that). Violence: like I said earlier, several bloody violence. Killing isn't rare here (though the scene when Indy killed the swordsman was funny). SPOILER ALERT during the scene when the bad guys open up the Ark, there faces melted which I'm sure will freak young kids out; it was more gross for me. Also there was a long kissing scene that we just skiped. In one scene Marion is seen dressing but you only see her back. Language: all I heard was hell, and it wasn't that costant. I wanted to see the movie after playing the lego game but I like the game better. Overall it was an okay movie; personally Star Wars was better
I can't believe the guy who wrote "What parents need to know" says that there is "nothing graphic". Did he watch this movie?!
I have always loved the Indiana Jones films but they are the reason PG-13 was invented. WAY too violent for younger kids.
Our family LOVED this action movie! It is definetely a great action movie! Kids younger than 10 can watch this movie, but they should look away at certain deaths! Such as the (what's his name) guy who got speared in the temple and the propeller guy that Indy got in a fistfight with! Other than that it is a great movie that 8 year olds can watch, but make sure you fastforward the parts that I mentioned! :D
