My Favorite
Inside Louis Davis is such an incredible movie. The writing is sharp and witty, Oscar Isaac gives an incredible performance, and the movie is beautiful. There is some strong language and fairy mile sex related talk though, but people at the age of 14 will like, especially the people that love folk music.

Bleak and beautiful: this movie is a folk song
A tragic yet excellently acted and executed journey of a man's life spinning in circles around a drain. People should be warned of language, a few light punches thrown, and an intense discussion about abortion, but otherwise fine for reasonably mature music fans (better if even mildly interested in folk music) and people who can retain interest in gracefully heavy films delving into the pains of the human condition. Rather than a single moment of sadness, the nature of this entire experience is a raw and melancholy performance, and a memorable story of continued perseverance through failure to simply more failure in a powerful tale of truly immersive emotion.

Excellent film with excellent performances, may suffer from depressing themes.
Inside Llewyn Davis is an excellent film from the Coens’ about a struggling folk music artist. The performances in this film are great, Oscar Issac, Carey Mulligan, and even Justin Timberlake all do great in this film. The writing is great, the acting is great, this is a great film, obviously. Fair warning: this film is quite depressing, and may drag some people down, but if you don’t get overly depressed, you will most likely enjoy this film.
Violence: Very little other than some violence references and a few scenes of heavy arguing. There is however one or two scenes that include a man being punched and kicked a few times, but it’s not particularly graphic or bloody.
Sex: A few graphic references about pregnancy, and how to avoid it. Sexual reference other than this do appear once in a while though. also includes reference to abortion. The idea of abortion is actually talk about somewhat frequently throughout a small portion of this film, though nothing is shown.
Language: Language is mostly why the movie is rated R. About 60 F bombs, also various uses of
s—t, a—, d—n, and more. Becomes slightly less frequent in the back half.
Consumption: Smoking is shown infrequently and several scenes take place at a bar. In one of those scenes, a character gets drunk and heckled a woman.
Extra: This film is depressing, referenced earlier, but positive messages may be here. Role models not so much though, however, some characters do seem to care about each other.

Watch this movie NOW
Inside Llewyn Davis is phenomenal in every aspect. Other than the constant swearing, there is nothing else parents should really worry about. There is a small amount of violence, and a few scenes that may upset some people. Great, great film overall.

Kind of messy, but fitfully so.
Each performance is stellar even if some are minimized, and the direction and music complements it perfectly. The story drifts a fair amount and I honestly don't have any problem with, it's just that the marketing and promotional material for the film showcases several people that are just barely there (don't expect to see more than two scenes of Justin Timberlake and John Goodman). The marketing for this movie is actually pretty terrible. However, as with this film, I quite like drifting stories because they allow for a more realistic and first-person perspective of events. Oscar Isaac is sosososo good and his character verges on anti-hero since he's such a bad person when you think about what he does, but he gives it depth and loads of charisma. Carey Mulligan was surprisingly convincing as a sort of totally mean person, which I haven't really seen from her before. The thing I was the most skeptical of was the music, but thank God it works super well. It's crucial, of course, but works because the actors the play subtle and everything feels realistic. It drags a bit, but the color pallet and coldly immersive nature helps.

The Movie is Phenomenal... The Language Isn't
First of all this movie was FANTASTIC! I have no idea why I wanted to see this but I was so glad I did. The music is terrific and this was one of the best movies of 2013. There is so much language in this movie. It seems like the F word was used 400 times or in every sentence. There is no sex but some really heavy discussions on abortion. Violence is very slim with a couple of fist fights. A mature teen could handles but I doubt a teen would want to see this... AMAZING movie!
