Amazing Movie. Not for the small ones.
Jaws is an amazing movie. I just started enjoying watching the TV 14 shows on shark week and I just watched Jaws last night. I say 12+ for sure but pause on 10 because I don't think littler kids would be able to watch it. Just be careful on the second attack (blood squirts like a gushing fountain), the first is ok, the third all that's graphic is a severed leg, the fisherman boat scene causes a bit of a fright, and the ending... Just be warned for massive blood and screaming. And more blood. Honestly I laughed the whole way through but I don't think many people do.

definitely should be PG-13

perfect for older kids, a bit too scary and gory
I personally think it is a great movie BUT, it is very intense and dramatic and bloody.

70's Horror classic could be terrifying for tween's, a heck of a lot of fun for teens
Now, maybe I was just raised in a ultra-protective enviroment, but, even though Jwas was Rated PG (a 70's PG, mind you), I still wasn't allowed to wacth it until I was 11, and even thanI thought it was pretty intense. Now though, I have seen it countless times since than but I still think that it makes for a bloody, intense, stomach churning ride that will be thoroughly enjoyed by most teens as long as they enjoy being scared senseless. Really, I mean it

Definatetly a BBFC 12
Its pretty gory whenever the shark attacks, and can really make you jump and go 'ewww!'. One man gets his legs ripped off as he tries to fight off the shark, and then he gets crunched up with blood going everywhere in the water. i wouldnt let very young kids watch this

Good scary thriller for mature teens
It's good for mature kids. It's scary, thrilling, and actioned packed. At the begining it shows a girl butt-naked swimming but not zoomed in enough to be able to see anything (just skin,) fair amount of language. But you got to remember its an old movie.

Verrrrrry goooooood! (I love sharks!)
I really like this movie. When i was little, i didnt know much about sharks and didnt want to watch this at all! But, i watched it when I was about 12 a really liked it. However, I have a great love and passion for sharks. This is a good movie if you like sharks, and suspense. This can be quite scary for younger kids, but as long as feel ok about watching a shark kill people and KNOW its FICTION, then I think they are fine to watch this :)

I loved it so frickin' much
I loved it but there is a really gross PS. I'm 9 and the part is when there is a guy getting eatin and you here the bones and see blood coming out of his mouth and 1 severed leg but the it I loved it and I love going to the beach. I watched the movie alone during shark week and after that I was scarexd of going farther than 100 feet into the water but I still love to go to the beach espicially during summer. There is some s words said d-n h-l and son of a b-h but b-h is not heard at all because there is an explosion blocking it. I loved the movie but I think that I should had waited a year or two. There is in fact skinny dipping and you can kinda see her boobs

Sharks All The Way
Jaws is a classic story of man versus animal, but offers a new movie-watching experience that even present-day viewers will find thrilling. Parents should be careful, however, of violent material that may inspire a new fear of the ocean in young children.

Filled with Suspense
Jaws was a good movie, where you don't see the shark for the majority of the movie. You just see what happens to people and how the characters react. Jaws is filled with suspense and violence at the end when they take on Jaws. Okay for teens thirteen and up, possibly twelve.

The PG-13 rating was created after the outrage of Indiana Jones 2. If your gonna troll get your facts straight.

An awesome thrilling adventurer film!
I LOVE THIS MOVIE! I saw it 4 weeks before I was 11 years, and it rocked! but some parts had too much blood, it has some swearing and smoking, But other then that it was a blast! It was the first horror Movie I've ever seen and I don't think it's that scary! It's just thrilling and exiting! 5 Stars WATCH IT!

ok, but horrifying for some
Well, i've seen it and theres one part that is truly scary, (spoiler alert): you see a man pop out of a half sunk boat and his left eye has been bitten out. but that's the worse that happens.

Great Spielberg Feature
Jaws is a great and thrilling motion picture which uses Hitchcock suspense (even though because the mechanical shark was malfunctioning) and great actors to make the film one of the greatest films in history. Yet, the films frighting sequences make Jaws a film not for younger kids to see.

Lots of violence, very scary and some language, mature 11 year olds and up
This movie was very good. I saw it just over a month before I turned 12. Lots of shark on human violence. It's implied the shark eats people and it is shown once quite graphically. One of the scariest movies I've ever seen but also very good. Language including one or two uses of s--t, a couple of uses of b---ard and son of a b--ch but the b--ch is covered by a gunshot (ie. Why, you son of a [boom]).

Great Movie, But Iffy Content
This movie is one of my favorites by far. But it's not for everybody. If your kid will get scared into thinking that there's a giant shark out to get them in the ocean, don't let them watch it. There is a lot of bloody violence, including a man's leg being ripped off, a child dragged off a water toy, and a man being badly attacked and the dragged into the water. There are a few scary moments, like a rotting corpse coming out of nowhere. The main character smokes. There is a lot of language such as h-ll, d-mn, s--t, etc. Whether or not a kid should see this movie is really up to their parent
