Keanu Reeves' at his best. Amazing choreography and world-building too.

An ex-hit-man comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that killed his dog and took his car. With the untimely death of his beloved wife still bitter in his mouth, John Wick, the expert former assassin, receives one final gift from her--a precious keepsake to help John find a new meaning in life now that she is gone. But when the arrogant Russian mob prince, Yosef Tarasov, and his men pay Wick a rather unwelcome visit to rob him of his prized 1969 Mustang and his wife's present, the legendary hitman will be forced to unearth his meticulously concealed identity. Blind with revenge, John will immediately unleash a carefully orchestrated maelstrom of destruction against the sophisticated kingpin, Viggo Tarasov, and his family, who are fully aware of his lethal capacity. Now, only blood can quench the boogeyman's thirst for retribution.

Mindless Action, But Some Genuinely Clever Writing

John Wick is a mindless and violent action thriller about a man with heart and care getting dragged back into his assassin role to get revenge. There's some stylish action sequences and good cinematography here that makes this action-packed experience worth while. Frequent and extremely bloody violence throughout the movie. An extremely high kill count in this movie from shootouts, hand-to-hand combat as well as hand-to-gun combat. A dog is shot, but is hard to see, but afterwards a trail of blood is shown leading to the dog. Language is frequent and at times unnecessarily constant. Countless uses of "f#!k" and lesser uses of "$h!t", "b#!ch" and "@$$". Sexual content is fairly mild. In a nightclub, there are many close up shots of women in bikinis.

Kids are more tolerant of things than parents give them credit for

Most kids these days have been exposed to worse things than violence, kids could be a lot more tolerant of things if parents remembered how to be a kid once in a while.

It's pretty good

This movie is very violent but very good. The actors are great and the scenes can get very emotional and intense. I would not recommend showing this to a child or teenager without an adult present.
