I must say that this horror remake may have gotten some fairly good reviews, but this one was way too much for me. First and most importantly: the infamous rape sequence; now, yes, I do understand why they did it: for horror effect. They wanted us to cringe, and it worked... a little too well. I have seen simulated rape before, even in good movies, such as Pulp Fiction, and I let it slide due to two facts: one, it was a good movie, and two, the rape was nowhere near as horrifying as this. Next, the gore: the gore was really extreme, but nothing you haven't seen if you've seen the Saw or Hostel franchises. Otherwise, be warned! Finally, the role models of the film: the parents who seek vengeance against the attackers. Now, although their actions are horrific and and uncomfortably planned out, it is arguable that the parents were giving the attackers what they deserved. I know, it sounds wrong to root for the torturers, but it's the lesser of two evils: either the righteous torturers, or the psychotic, sadistic, all around messed up rapists/killers. PLUS, this wasn't even a very good movie, so, really, what's the point? If you want to see a horrifyingly realistic and prolonged rape scene, many over the top gory deaths, and poor role models who see fit to kill the rapists in the most horrific manner possible instead of geting their daughter to a hospital, then by all means, watch this movie. Otherwise, rent something much better in quality and less in quantity (of rape). If you want to still be scared, then rent higher-class horror films, such as The Ring or The Shining, two fine examples of well made horrific terror. Well, thanks again for reading - Move Man
