Machete is gory, violent, sick and quite frankly dull and uninteresting. The story and characters are flat and it doesnt show any of the zip or life of Rodriguezs other films, just his over the top nature. On top of that the political message hits you over the head like a club and dont make the movie any better and arn't included in a way that makes the movie interesting. Mostly this film is nasty, extremely violent dull and preachy. Plus there is alot of nudity and swearing(on top of the extreme violence) so no kids allowed
Ultra-violent, extremely bloody actioner for adults only
After seeing this film, i had a smile on my face that wouldn't go away for some time. This was certainly a guitly pleasure, but a pleasure nonetheless. I highly enjoyed this super violent Grindhouse-tribute action-fest. The actors, although often campy, seemed like they were having fun, and that really helps with a movie like this. No one tried to over-act, even though there were some phenomonal actors in this movie (Robert DeNiro, Jeff Fahey, to name a few). Parents: This is an EXTREMELY violent and gory film. Characters are dismantled by any means nessicary. Bloodshed, guts, and dismembered limbs galore. Familes are also threatened and killed. There's also lots of sex, nudity, and strong language. What I would have rated it: R for Strong Graphic Bloody Violence Throughout, Pervasive Language, Sexual Content, and Nudity. Bottom Line: Those looking for innocent fun probably won't make it through the first scene. Those looking for blood-and-guts-galore came to the right place. Although the bloodshed isn't constant, there's still enough to feed the bloodthirstiest action fan. Thanks for reading! - Movie Man
Despite what many people have said about this movie, it really isn't that sexual. There is much nudity, but none of which is has much to do with sex. The sexual content is pretty much at a PG-13 level. That being said.... This movie is violent. VERY. Intestines are ripped out of an attacker and are used to repel out of a window. A man shoots a pregnant woman, then shoots her stomach (to kill the baby). Limbs are sliced off, bodies are stabbed through, and people are brutally slaughtered. All of which are done with, yeah, you guessed it, a Machete. Not to mention much gun violence, which of course can end in bloody results. Language is average for a movie of this genre, with the "f--k" used casually, as well as other expletives. My rating- Rated R for: Strong, Bloody and Disturbing Violence Throughout, Pervasive Language and Some Graphic Nudity.
