A GOOD MOVIE BUT A BIT EXTREME FOR ME. WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS HUGE SPOILERS!
Hi i'm 12 years old and this movie was really scary and sad for me. (and most people think i am a very mature viewer for my age.) Here is why this movie was a bit to much for me: VILONCE: A mother slaps her 11 year daughter anna (which caught me by surprise) Family members yell at one another, and annas mom tries to block her husbands car by hitting the car and yelling in order to get Kate to the hospital. SEX: Kate when she is about 15 years old falls in love with another guy who has lukemia (cancer) They are shown under covers holding eachother, and they kiss. (but tragicly he dies shortly afterward because of his condition) LANGUAGE: Lots of constint swearing. DRINKING,SMOKING, AND DRUGS: Kate (annas sister who has lukemia) is upset when her boyfriend dies and is in so much pain because of that and her cancer that she tries to kill herself by getting drunk. (this was one of the most scaryiest parts in the whole film) So before you take your kids to see this remeber there is lots of death, and talk about dying. also there are MANY disturbing images through out the film like: Kate starts throwing up blood, Because of her constant fevers she looks very pale and bleeds through her nose a lot, And well i know this is a HUGE SPOILER but right before Kates death she looke like a corpse which can scare some younger viewers. The message of the story is even though it's hard sometimes you have to let go of those who you love for the good of others. This movie is amazing! I knew about cancer before seeing this movie but i didnt exspect to see what i saw. In my school there was a girl in the first grade who had cancer and had to wear a wig to school and had to go to the hospital a lot.... But she is better now. Why i told you that is because her surviving was nothing more than a merecule! I forgot for a long time that merucules did happen but this movie made me remeber again.

Bad movie if you read the book, otherwise just OK
no i didn't like the movie because if you have read the book, it is completely different from the movie. One character from the book isn't even in the movie. The ending was changed in the movie, which destroyed the original message. Also there were many scenes in the movie that weren't in the book, and many that were added.

Um, k, dont bring lil sis into room! ;D xD
WOW! amazing! I luv it! Ya, who cares if i'm 9, but i've seen the ''Elizabeth Smart story'' and, '' Lovley Bones''. xD, but i think its not to appropiate for tweens, and teens that are sensitive. And, well, my mom got bored halfway through when she watched it a year ago but to me it is AMAZING, but i read u guys's comments and some were asking if there were any blood in it besides the girl throwing up. YES, A LOT! The girl with cancer gets purple lips, at the beggining she throws up blood.......u get the point. But it's defintly not a horror movie, i'll tell u tht. I actually think it is quite a heartwarming movie, but if you are going to watch it, make sure ur little sis isn't in the room. ;D Haha. Pretty good advice from a little sis, dont ya think?

Good movie, Mature subject
I've read this book & it is very different from the movie. One part I didn't like about the movie is that I thought it would have more court scenes. It seems more "bubbly" & "lively" than the book was. The beach scene is the most beautiful thing ever. The song used in that scene is called "Feels Like Home" & that version is sung by Edwina Hayes. Overall it's a very touching movie. I also didn't like when they stuck the needles in people. I am very squemish about that sort of thing.

Beautiful yet Painful Story; Doesn't Live up to Book
I feel that this movie would have been better if I hadn't read the book first. The book was extremely beautiful yet incredibly sad, and the movie didn't live up to my expectations. That said, the movie was beautiful, as well- an inspiring story that I thought, even though the main characters were struggling with the effects of terminal cancer, was about life, and celebrating it. It made me realize how lucky I am to be healthy, and how often I take things for granted. I could also relate to this story, having a best friend who has survived leukemia and, thankfully, has been cancer free for years. By the end of the movie, I was sobbing, just like I did after finishing the book. Although this movie is sad, I would definitely recommend seeing it if you are 12 or older. I think this movie may be too intense for tweens.

What You See is What You Get
"My Sister's Keeper" is a tearjerker. It knows that, accepts that, and doesn't ever try to be anything more. That's one of the reasons that it works so well. Another reason is the high count of fabulous performances, most notably by Cameron Diaz and Sofia Vasillieva. Diaz's is so impressive primarily because of her stepping outside of her comfort zone. Appearing so often in comedies, she gives a raw and ruthless performance as a woman whose sole purpose is to keep her daughter alive, whatever the cost. Vasillieva's performance works in multiple ways. She's believable, charismatic, and gloriously understated. She knows that she is on the verge of death and embraces the fact, strenuously trying to enjoy the short amount of life that she has left. The story is incredibly thought-provoking and grabs hold of you from the get-go as the wonderful Abigail Breslin announces that rather than an accident, she was manufactured (so to speak) to be a donor for her sister Kate, diagnosed early on with a rare type of Leukemia. The film then proceeds to show us Anna (Abigail Breslin) speaking to a big-shot lawyer (an oddly cast Alec Baldwin) and asking to sue her parents for "Medical Emancipation." Basically, she wants to have the freedom to decide whether or not to donate to her sister, especially when it becomes evident that she is in need of a kidney. The film shows us various flashbacks from various characters' points of view, building Kate's (Vasilleava's) story. In her ruthless search to save her daughter, Sara (Diaz) casts aside her husband (Jason Patric) and son and casts aside Anna's well-being. The best sequence of the film chronicles Kate's first love interest, a boy who also has leukemia. It captures with great feeling love and loss. With all of these ingredients, the film is bound to be good, and when you add in a wonderfully non-stereotypical judge (a very powerful Joan Cusack), you know you can't go wrong. It is stepped up even further when, toward the end of the film, a twist comes and punches you full-on in the gut. But the film isn't perfect. The direction is overly sappy and very heavy-handed at times, hammering across music-video style montages with music that contrives emotion. But contrived or not, it's still emotion. Expect a few instances of salty language, mild sexual content and some heavy themes.

Movie failed to move me.
This movie made me unhappy. Though it represented the book by Jodi Picoult in some aspects, wonderful and moving characters like older brother Jesse were severly distorted. Also, a sexual scene not included in Picoult's book was added, which I thought changed the character of Kate. Overall, iffy for ages 14+, and the book is a much better choice.

BEST MOVIE EVER
i loved this movie because of one thing: I can realate to it. I loved this movie, it was so emotional and it made me cry. i loved this whole entire message it sent to everyone. the girl with cancer's boyfriend dies, and one scene disturbed me: it showed the girl with Cancer turning up loud ROCK music and she was tearing things off the walls and breaking stuff, while drinking alcohol, then it shows the girl with cancer saying "im going to meet my boyfriend" and she literally INHALES a bottle of pills. it kinna creeped me out.

Love this movie.
Shows how you need to stick together when someone is sick. Sensual scenes between Kate and Taylor, innunedo between them too. A lot of gd's and stuff. Kate gets drunk in one scene to deal with her cancer.
