It was a great story. It held my and my son's interest. The characters were wonderful, very imaginative.

Yikes. I couldn't sit through this. My daughter seems to be engrossed with it but the mawkish acting, the shreiks of "nooooo!" against the fantasy world's many unfair turn of events, outdated visual effects, and large clumsy puppetry had me running for the kitchen and my dishes to be washed. I guess there's a message going on over there, but there's no way I'm going to sit through it to find out what it is!

Think twice before seeing with a group of children: The scene with the Sphinx shows the Sphinx's naked breasts, which caused my group of 4th & 5th graders to "hoot & holler" with delight.

Perfect for those 8-10 year olds
My girls and I have watched this a few times. I don't think they got into it as much back when they were 5-6, but now at 8-10 they really enjoyed it

A movie about a book, that's based on a book, about the very book that the book is based on.
In the top ten of best movies ever made. This movie glorifies reading and turns every book into an adventure you'll never forget. It shows true friendship, and that sometimes life is hard and unfair (Example: the swamp scenes.) It also shows that we have to get up and do something, and not wait on others. Outstanding movie score. "Never ending" shows the main characters with great courage, even when it is hard to do so.Lastly the movie deals with justified payback, which is rightly deserved. (Hence the ending scene.) A powerful movie not just for the young, but the young at heart. I at 32 yrs of age still like to watch this movie on a rainy day with my kids.

I loved this movie so much!
I really liked the part when Atreyu killed the creature of darkness. I also liked the part when Atreyu jumped through the Sphinxes before he got hit by the lasers. There is a sort of sad part in the movie when Atreyu's horse sinks into the swamp of sadness. I think this movie would be too scary for A three year old child.

A timeless masterpiece for people 8 to 80
This is the best movie ever. I love it but it may frighten younger viewers. There's a lot of scary stuff, from some of the characters, a dark atmosphere (at some points), corpses and blood. Some of the statues are topless that parents might not want their children to see. Colourful, imagintive and cheerful is how I describe this movie.

One of the Best!
This is a very good movie. It shows a child that it is ok to get lost in a good book. I does show the boy stealing something (the book) though so you may want to talk to your children about how that was bad. Overall this is a very good movie with a good plot, lovable charecters, and beautiful scenry.

I enjoy this movie, but...
I can't wait for my kid to get old enough to watch it! I keep trying to watch these old favorites of mine hoping that he's old enough, but he just isn't (he's 4). This one's a definite hold off. I think it would go between being boring as all get out and terrifying for him. Although I thought the big "fight scene" at the end was a bit anti-climactic after all the hullabaloo on here about it. The blood was a bit much, though. There was some blatant commercialism at the beginning. I spotted wonder bread, skippy peanut butter, ziploc baggies, and sanka coffee in the kitchen scene between Bastion and his dad.

Scary Story
This film was much more dark in theme (and atmosphere) than expected. Beware!
