Loved this movie! It was even better than the first one! Loved the history, the characters, and it was just plain hilarious. :)

Ok, so this is a movie my 9-year-old loved, but...not me. Good historical information, however, I don't approve of the following: 1. Amelia Earhart slapping the main character 2. The monkey slapping scene where the main character slaps the monkies (same as 1st movie) 3. The characters saying "I'm going to kill you", "I'm going to kill your friends", "Kill them!", etc. and also the word "murder". 4. The long overly passionate kiss 5. And words like "stupid", dum-dum to name a couple. 6. The main character stealing the badge after man-handling the security guard. What is the need to put all this in the movie? It would have been fine without it.

Good movie
The movie has a strong, positive message about being true to yourself and doing what you love in order to be happy. Larry and his friends are frequently chased and threatened. Some flirting, a few kisses. Language such as dammit, suck, fanny, stupid, Oh my God andd shut up are used mildly. Walmart is mentioned by name a few times.

Fun, family movie...just plain entertaining.
Just went with a 10, 11, and 12 year old boy. We all liked it, laughed out loud. Bad guy gets his come-uppance at the end, and there is a great happy ending.

The movie was very similar to the first movie. Lot's of chases, and a couple mild violent scenes. I think "d@mn it" was in there once.

Great kids movie!
Battle of the Smithsonian is fun and upbeat. There is violence but The Incredibles style violence and some mild swearing.

Good kids movie
This movie was as good as the first movie! I took my 8 & 2 year old. My 8 year old loved it and much to my astonishment my 2 year old watched most of it he was more interested in where the movie came from ( the big window in the theater. Good kids movie.

We loved this movie!
My 2 kids 7 and 5 and I loved this movie! It has a lot of action, humor and the great message of friends sticking together and helping each other. The scenery of Washington D.C. was gorgeous, too. My five year old was a little scared of the squid, but just like in the original it turns out to be friendly. I also loved the positive female role model in this one.

Great Movie, Minus One Evil Part.
I really liked the first Night at the Museum, so naturally I enjoyed this one as well. I was fun and funny!!!! I was so happy to see Darth Vaer in it because Star Wars is my all time favorite movie. There was a lot of sarcasim which I also enjoyed. The story was very good because it was all about sticking together and being loyal to your friends. As a Christian, I was very upset with the bad guys plot. He wanted to raise an army from a weird pagean world. Besides that part (which was shown), it was a very funny movie. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the first one and who likes a good laugh.

I took my 5 yo boy to see it and he was a little scared of the bird people that came out of the gate but I held hid hand and he soon loosened his grip and was laughing again.

Definitely better if you've seen the original
The movie was a lot of fun and packed with action. It held my 5 year old's attention and he had fun but he didn't really "get it." For people of the right age, 6 to adult, I think the movie is definitely better if you've seen the original. There is a lot going on that was explained in the first one so you lose a lot of the background story if you haven’t seen it.

Age appropriate, but not very entertaining
I didn't enjoy this movie very much. My kids saw the first film and we liked it a lot, but this one was a bit contrived and lacked the creativity of the first film. Overall, it was a bit of a disappointment.

Fun Summer Film
My 7-year-old was a little scared of the creepy Egyptian Underworld parts, but other than that, loved the film. It was a good opportunity to talk to him about movie special effects. There are quite a few laugh-out-loud moments for adults, too.

One questionable line in an otherwise kid friendly family film
I have to say, though movie was enjoyable, I didn't find as much clever humor for the adults that I've seen in more recent family comedies. I think the violence could be concerning for younger kids who may not yet know the difference between fantasy and reality, but it was "over the top" enough for older children to know it was meant for excitement, rather than replication. What stuck with me was a specific joke. There is a Scene when Ben Stiller gives Amy Adams an innocent hug while he has the Mini Owen Wilson in his shirt pocket. After the hug he pulls him out and apologizes for squishing him. Owen then makes a joke about rounding bases. I don’t want to say too much in case there are kids reading this, but it was completely out of place and had the kids asking us what he meant. I thought it was pretty inappropriate and out of place for the film. That just really stuck with me. Other than that however, the movie will entertain the kids and there is plenty to look at during the whole film. For the parents, the jokes will seem forced at times and there certainly isn’t much new humor here, so if your kids aren’t dying to see it, it may be worthy of saving this one for the DVD release.

Loved it
I brought all five of my children. Ages 18, 10, 9, 8, and 5. We all enjoyed the movie very much. I thought it was just as good as part one. There was a couple of charachters I would have like to have seen more of. I did not see an issue with the violence, if you want to use such a strong word as violence for what they were doing. I always checked out movie reviews before taking my children. I would say this one passed. Only two negatives that I would have to agree with was when the cowboy Jedidiah remarked that he "got to second base". And taking the lords name in.

Violence was a little much. It all turns out well in the end, but some of it was too intense and in a world where violence is too much a part of our lives, it could have been toned down and still kept to much the same story. I think we've become too accustomed to violence. I'm no puritan, but movies aimed at kids need to think about the message they send with every action. My son (age 7) was apprehensive and worried that it would be too scary. I think he liked it well enough, but it would not be a favorite. Better for a little older child. I gave it an age 8, but it could even be more of a 9. But then again, I've generally kept his watching more age appropriate with cartoons and the like. This happened to be the only remotely child friendly movie available on Memorial Day.

Good, except for this one part.....
The only problem that I had with this movie was the scene where Amelia and Larry are hugging good-bye. The cowboy Jedidiah was hiding in Larry's shirt pocket at the time and remarked that he "got to second base". While my kids didn't "get" the joke, they asked what that meant. It was just not necessary in this movie.

We took our 5 and 7 years old sons to this movie and they loved it. It was action-packed and never lost our interest. The kids loved it saying "it was the best movie ever!" Taking the Lord's name in vain is a negative, though.
- I rate this title iffy for age 7 and give it
This movie was terrible compared to the original (which we loved). There was no character development and the story was downright boring. We were sorry we spent our hard earned money on tickets and concessions for such a lame movie.

this movie is probably not as good as the first one in terms of plot management and depth but it gets by in both, the acting is good. the laughs are twice as funny as night the museum 1 and better yet there,s more of them, a nicely done movie all in all but the plot is bad in this one its sort of a repeat of number one but the laughs make up for the bad plot. the new characters are great alot more of them and even more when they go to the museum of air and space.a good watch

Ok.
Hee hee. Funny, although Ben Stiller got a little stone-faced. Nothing really bad, but consider the fact that there is naked statues that display their private parts and some kissing. Its really not TOO violent or scary but if you don't want your child too see fights, altough the fights are cartoonish, mybe not take him to see this.

Not as good as the first!!!
I expected a lot of funny scenes (there were some funny scenes, just not as many as I expected). This movie is still good ,but it is not quite as good as the first movie. The violence is comical, but there is a battle that may scare children 6 and under. There are only one or two kisses and mild flirting. The language isn't bad except for one bad word. I gave this movie a 3 out of 4 stars. I think kids ages 7+ will like this movie. I recommend this movie to anyone who has seen and/or loved the first movie or to anyone who is a fan of the cast in this movie.

A Fun, Mindless Sequel
This movie is good, but not as good as the first movie. They spend too much time in the art building of the Smithsonian rather then other buildings. The violence is mild, and ofthen played for comic effect. In one scene, Kahmunrah disappears into a cloud of sand and dust. A mild sexual innuendo from Amelia Earhart. Language is fairly mild. A big problem with this movie is that the plot gets juimbled by the film's attempts to show lots of the Smithsonian exhibits coming to life, and then there's a big plot hole towards the end, where the characters say that no one will know about the Battle of the Smithsonian when they really make a mess in the museum; at least the first movie didn't skip that. Overall, the plot isn't as good as the first film, but its brainless fun as all the exhibits come to life with humor. 3 out of five. The film is OK for any age, and 6 and up should be OK.

Unfunny Movie: For Young Children Only
This movie was not good. it might be fun for young kids. but not for kids older than 10. There is one part where Ben Stiller stares at a woman's breasts and she is all, "Why are you staring at my chastes?". BAD! Overall- UNFUNNY MOVIE!

Night at the Museum 2
Compared to the original, which I did not love, this is a pretty bad movie. It was boring and not funny, I am a fan , of Ben Stiller movies, but this is not good. I like the Madagascar films, but I am not a fan of the Night at the Museum films. This movie has nothing bad, it is recommend for young children, nothing bad. I think it is for younger kids.

Better than original, but still only okay.
This film is slightly funnier than the original. Some parents may not like the added romance, and some kids will get freaked out be the army of the undead.
