Great for older kids, and even some 4 or 5 yr olds
My 4 1/2 daughter really loved this movie and has watched it many times but I'm sure she doesn't get all of it. But she doesn't find any of the parts she doesn't get overly scary or disturbing and there's lots she finds funny.
One of my favorites, the original night at the museum is much better than the first. While learning some random facts about history, you'll also be laughing till you cry as Lary interacts with all of the fun characters, (especially Jed and Octavious.) Some language might be a little inappropriate for the very little kids and there is some crude humour involving a slap fight with a monkey, but overall is a fun family film.
This movie is truly funny. It has farly clean humor, and it does have education in it also. It is really good, and Ben Stiller is really funny. He also has to act like something was there and there wasn't anything. That makes it really impressive. An amazing movie!
Good for all ages, some things will go over the heads of younger viewers.
Cute movie, with some educational stuff. The miniature people make a friendship out of their hatred. (With Larry's help) Larry develops a better relationship with his son through his job.
This movie is a pretty funny movie. There is comic action, and brief language. There are mostly insults, but there is only one bad word in this movie. This movie is appropriate for all kids ages 7-8+. I recommend this movie to kids who like family comedies, history movies, and Ben Stiller and his funny movies.
I thought this was a good movie. I rated it scary because there are a couple of scenes (specifically with the dinosaur) that may scare really young children. My son is four and he loves the dino, but there are some that may not. The language isn't that bad (there is one instance that I remember where Larry tells another character not to be a "kiss ass") but we can hear this word in "Home Alone". Tell your kids it's a bad word and trust them not to use it. My son doesn't. Overall I think this is a cute movie and I like watching it with my little boy.
In Night at the Museum, Larry goes to work at a museum only to find that the exhibits cone to life at night. This film is funny and is pretty clean, although some things may scare young kids, like when the T-Rex exibhit comes to life
Excellent Movie Not to be Missed and I am Picky Picky
I am very picky about movies my kids see....and basically think many of them , I have reviewed some at this site, are just awful, full of commercialism, horrible antics, and crass language. This movie is well done and not one drawback other then use of the word kiss my a**. The graphics , storyline, actors are wonderful, loved seeing the old timers Rooney and Van d**e. This movie reminded me somewhat of "Indian in the Cupboard" which I adored. The animals, characters, history that come alive in this movie entices you to want to take a future trip to your local science/history museum...which is a good thing.
