Yes, yes, I know the minute you saw my age you thought, "He shouldn't have seen that movie." Dude, lady, sir, person, I like to think of myself as mature in the area of violent films. And I love the Coen brothers. So there. Anyway, back to the review. This is definetly one of the Coen brother's best films, and probably one of the best to ever come out this year. And even though I'm fourteen and saw it, and it's an excellent movie, I think you should consider a couple things before you drag Johnny to the theaters. Actually I take that back, there's a good chance you don't want him/her to see it. This movie is violent. Yes-siree. Many horrible killings and murderings take place- many in cold blood or for no apparent reason. All of them leave a pool of blood behind and many wounds. The film is brutal and probably disturbing to some. The murderer is a psycopath and no doubt, he is scary. Which reminds me; this movie may not be a horror flick, but it is scary. There are lots of jump scenes as well. But none of this takes anything from the A I've given it. It doesn't get an A plus because of the ending mostly. Frankly, it was confusing, odd and many will wonder why it had to end that way. Why couldn't there be a happy ending? I don't want you to hope for a happy ending here. It's a bout a serial killer who kills everyone. But in an intelligent, excellent, wonderful, awesome, (I can't say any more words for space in my review, if you want some more you'll have to think 'em up for yourself. There are more) etc. As for language, I haven't gotten to that yet. There isn't much. A PG-13 level. Not much sexual content either. Some minor innuendo taht would go over the head of an eight-year-old, but don't take your eight-year-old to see it. There is a teeny bit of racism toward Mexicans that isn't in a bad way- it's just the way it was back then. Just a teeny bit. All in all- I would say sixteen and up for the less experienced with violence, fourteen and up for veterans. By veterans I mean anyone who's seen, say, Saving Private Ryan, Apocalypto, Gladiator, or gory stuff like that. It's an excellent, compelling movie. No doubt, I loved it. Some may not love it. It depends on your character. But most good movie fans will. An excellent crime movie. Excellent is the word that describes it. If you like the Coen brothers, check out "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" or maybe "Raising Arizona". (I haven't seen Fargo yet, maybe I'll get a review for that later)
