Pretty harsh show to watch
I'm glad CSM updated their review - when I first saw it said there was no sexual content or nudity, so I was rather upset when they turned out to be wrong. The first two didn't have any, but the sex scenes were pretty graphic in the third one. The forth is on right now and HBO listed nudity in the beginning. I don't know why I thought HBO could actually make a show without it. Besides the breasts, the war scenes are VERY realistic, so I would have probably given up on the show anyway. This is NOT a show for younger veiwers, it would have a solid R in theaters.

Some episodes -- though not all -- include sex scenes, including female nudity. Soldiers often talk about missing female company. But, but it offers an unsparing look at war for older teens and adults.

This is a piece of american/world history. If you hate this, you hate america and the people who gave their lives for others. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just wanted to mention a piece of counterism that wasn't mentioned. All the soliders smoke the same very famous american brand. (Luckey Strike)

Not bad. Gory, but it is a war show.
I love this series. K so this is about the war with Japan, and all I can say is wow pretty awesome. Let me share my ideas of the content: Blood & Gore 8/10 Profanity 6/10 Smoking & Drugs 3/10. This isn't really bad of a show. The gore in it has blood squirting from Japs being shot, and when the get bombed they get thier arms, legs, etc... blown off. The swearing they do swear, but it's not the worst, and they smoke cigars. It's ok for 13+ I say, but that's not up to me, it's upto the parent.

Gripping and emotional must see for warfare enthusiasts
Being a big fan of the Band of Brothers series as well as having quite an interest in 20th century warfare, I was definitely looking forward to The Pacific from hearing about the production. The production quality of this series and it's respect for these historical events are outstanding and provides the viewer with a very emotional look at the effects of brutal warfare. My big gripe with the series is the totally unnecessary sex and nudity scenes that are peppered through a few of the episodes...thus raising my recommended viewing age. Other than that this is a must see for any warfare enthusiasts.

Perfect show!
I've seen every episode. Terrible language and violence. Both male and female nudity. Plus, sex! But it's great. It's very very sad.(One of main characters dies after he gets married.) The good things are that it's SO entertaining and it's educaional. I love it. It's my favorite show.

Gruesome but Moving.
I thought this would be another Band of Brothers type of production....wrong! The battle scenes were similar but the added sex/nudity was totally unnecessary. It didn't add to the plot at all and could have easily been implied without showing anything. There were several scenes of truly gruesome & realistic dead bodies. But overall I thought it was one of the best and most moving war films I have seen.

Its good, but there are three really innapropriate parts. #1 is when a soilder kills his teammate by stabbing him in the head just so he would be quiet, when a soilder says die you f--king b-stards, and one scene about...yeah. But its still a good show with a good message.

very unnecessary sex and F bombs in this series. a real shame.
this series is smut. no way you could watch this with any of your offspring under 30 years old. this should only be about the pacific theater in ww2. the sex scenes are vivid and totally unnecessary to tell this story. the same goes for the F bombs and profanity. it happened but when you read historical books about the war in the pacific, e.g., the one by william manchester, you cannot put the book down and there is not the sex and cursing. the producers, and particularly tom hanks should be ashamed to have produced such an important piece about american history and war but felt they had to make this a series that would entertain a bunch of horny 30 year olds. i hope hanks has to watch a show like this one day with his 13 year old daughter and has to suffer through the graphic intercourse scenes and cursing. band of bros was not this way. guess the tropical weather got the best of their of their libido. very sad.

Amazing Example of Real War
This is an amazing show. This show is for mature audiences for sure and in all aspects. HOWEVER, children these days play violent, and meaningless shooter games. This show shows the human side of war, and how war strips you from your conscience, and your soul. This TV show must be seen by kids over the ages of 13, to let them understand that war may be glamourized in video games, but is a lot more serious, and they dont show how it affects the human mind. Lots of violence, guns, big and small, gore, blood, you name it. Most of the blood, gore, and violence actually take place in a 3 part episode 5,6,7, and are probably the bloodiest thing iv'e seen on TV. Small sex scenes are included in 2 episodes, nothing real graphic, just a small 5 second shot of a young lady's breasts. Swearing is expected, as this is a realistic war TV show. This TV show has WONDERFUL role models. People who give up everything, and risk it to become a marine, when they know survival is questionable. It sends positive messages about war too. It is shown in games and movies like it is nothing to kill or get shot at. This movie shows a human side, that is more realistic than any other war film i have ever seen. If you are in question to allow someone to watch this, or are in question to watch it yourself. Do it. It is a phenomenal show, that really digs deep, pulls heart strings, and sends positive messages.
