    My concerns are:
    • Excessive violence
    • Inappropriate language

perfect action/comedy for any kids between 8-12

i think it is a very good movie, but its not the best. there is alot of funny parts, and theres action too. there is action violence, and a bad word or 2 and it has a ton of crude humor. it is really good family movie and i think most young kids would love it

  2. I rate this title iffy for age 7 and give it 1.0

    Nothing good about it

Nothing good about it, I have noticed that all action heroes make a family movie, Gerard butler (Nim's island), the guy from scorpian king (game plan), Arnold Swartzenagger (kindergarden cop), and jackie chan's new family comedy has been anounced. The Arnold swarrtzenager ones are good but not the others.

Fun, but also showing importance of respect for parent/parent figure

My kids (ages 7-10) and I enjoyed this movie. It was a bit unrealistic & farfetched in some parts, which can sometimes give the wrong impression to kids - eg when 2 martial art "ninjas" broke into the home when all the kids were home and Vin Diesel knocked them around over & over, with the younger daughter (maybe 9?) helping by handing him a broom to fight with. I didn't like giving kids the impression that a home break-in by thugs was "funny" or "exciting" in any way and that they should come out & help! I liked the way the kids were portrayed as somewhat typical, if a bit disrespectful; it worked for this movie bc Vin Diesel came in & insisted they follow rules no matter the kids' desires, and bc the kids finally realized he was right & he was setting those rules for their best interest. At the same time that he was a tough disciplinarian making them follow rules & do chores etc (which they obviously weren't used to) , they showed him as being compassionate & caring, spending lots of time working with the kids on things the kids cared about. I wasn't crazy about a part in the first third of the film, where they show a scene with the teenage girl's boyfriend trying to climb up to her 2nd story window -- but in context it worked out okay bc it shows him being "caught" & scared off (by Vin Diesel who thinks he is an intruder). In the last few minutes of the film there is a kissing scene, which is easy to skip past. The storyline is a bit scary bc it's all about a secret agent who is killed by people who are after software he created, and those people are still after it, putting the man's wife & children at risk. Younger kids will enjoy the fun scenes, while the scarier stuff will be above their heads; older kids may understand the scary storyline but hopefully will understand the fictional nature, plus that this was about a "secret agent" which would separate this from most kids' daily lives.

    A cute comedy

Maybe I am remembering it entirely different but I was really surprised by the review this was given. I thought it was a cute and fun family-type film. Yes, there is a little violence but I thought Vin Diesel did really good in this type of role. I liked it but apparently not everyone does? Sorry, that's not how I remember it!

    something for everyone

though there is more violence than i would like for a kids' movie, this is a movie the whole family can watch. since i belive part of common sense is not plopping children down in front of the television as a substitute for supervision, the violence is something everyone can discuss. the humor is juvenile and the movie is predictable, but vin diesel is HOT and quite macho, which makes this movie watchable for adults.

    I was thankful

This movie was one I was happy to have my kids see, and I enjoyed it too. The character Shane (Vin Diesel) started out with the family on the wrong foot, but they all worked things out together, and became closer through it all. It was a bit unbelievable at times, but like my kids said "it's only a movie!" (But they liked it too - from age 8 up to 15)

Perfect movie for what it is...

My kids (and me)thought this movie was great. My 3 year old boy sat through the whole thing entranced with the duck and military moves and my 8 year old daughter loves the cliched fighting and typical storyline. Although the father dies, it is brought up in the movie that it was okay to miss him, and show it in front of others. Great, although Im not a big fan of Vin Diesel he was perfect for this movie, with his obvious uncomfortability, which fit this role great. We will by this movie for our kids for sure

    It was cute

I had read horrible reviews, but I really enjoyed the movie. Yes, there is mild violence and mildly crude jokes, but I found it perfectly acceptable for my 9 year old daughter, who absolutely loved the movie. It is supposed to be stereotypical...that is part of the humor. The important thing is to realize that it is making fun of the stereotypes, not endorsing them. Anyway, all in all, it was a cute movie that can be watched with the kids. Plus, I like the fact that Vin Diesel is finally in a movie my daughter can watch with me.

    Cute but stupid

From the first scene, this was overdone - almost like a satire of what they intended to copy. There is definitely quite a bit of violence, even between kids. It might start a discussion with older kids, but probably frighten the little ones, especially since one of the parents is killed early in the movie.

    Caution

I would not let your kid watch this until they are at least 10 years of age in this movie Vin Deasel is hit in the crotch numerouse times (once a man is bitten in the crotch by a duck) and it is very violent for a PG

    A fun family movie

This is getting panned by critics for being a "formula" movie...well, I for one appreciate it for what it is: A nice, fun, family movie. When taking my kids to the movies, I don't need heavy plot and drama. They like the corny jokes, and quite frankly I thought they were funny too. It is sweet to see big Vin Diesel soften for these kids. The corny plot isn't a drawback - it simply makes a story that the kids can easily follow. We all loved it!

funny and cute, toom uch fighting

Cute movie, funnier than we expected based on the reviews. The family pulls to gether to defeat the "bad guys", a tough guy learns to appreciate family life. A little too much fighting, but no worse than Spy Kids.

    Good movie

This was a good movie , it was funny and not scary or sickning in any ways. It is a very nice movie , except for the first scene which is misleading. I don't why commonsense gave it 1 star , it entertains , it's appropriate and a cute movie.

Not a teens favorite movie intended more for 9 -10

A movie with a good storyline is always a good start. This is where it starts out strong. I feel that for younger audiences and adults looking for a movie to watch with there kids this movie would do well. A good mix of humor and action keeps the movie alive. Plus who doesnt like to see Vin Diesel stuck with little kids. Despite Minor violence this movie is fair for all ages as this marine bonds with the family hes been assigned to. All on but not movie of the year. Enjoy

    I HATE IT!

There isn't anything to bad in this movie unless the kid copies everything they see. So, if you're kid doesn't copy everything he sees, its okay. But lets look on the reviewing hand. This is one of disney's worst movies ever! I was watching it at my uncles house but instead stead of watching it, after 10 minutes I went around the house like a cat, so hence, it won't keep you watching that long.

    Okay

The Pacifier was nothing special, but a fun comedy. There's not much violence, and the language isn't too bad, either. I would only recommend this movie if you are 8+ years old. Some of the jokes and funny parts are kind of corny.
