Finished watching this movie like five minutes ago, which means I started it around 1:00 AM, and I will not sleep at all tonight. I am truly scared. Well made. Well written. Brillant acting. Almost too convincing. The scariest part is that this was based partially on true events.
VERY, VERY disappointed in this one. I kept thinking that something scary was going to happen. And I waited and waited until about the last 15 to 20 minutes of the movie before it finally had anything remotely scary to take place. That's what you see on the movie trailer when everyone jumps. It was so boring during the entire movie the teenage girl next to me kept saying are we going to watch them sleep again? Then she would start texting. So how scary is this movie? You might want to think twice before spending your money on this one because I wanted mine back!
Lammmeeee... this movie was so boring up until the last 20 minutes, half the people in the theatre left before it was even half over. It was not scary at all. The only plus was the way it was filmed, sort of like clover field or the salem witch trial. It made it seem more real in a sense. The only thing inappropriate for children is the extent of the f word used by micah.
For the horror-loving teen, this movie is much better than almost any alternative I can think of. Very little gore or sexual content. The lack of any visible monster makes for an incredibly terrifying movie! Definitely not for people who hate scary movies, but I loved it.
Dumbest movie ever. Can I have my money back? Can I have my time back? You can fool us once (Blair Witch) but as a society, please tell me you're not so stupid as to be fooled twice. I actually laughed at the end, it was so bad!
I went to this movie expecting to get the "you know what" scared out of me. Instead i sat through an hour and a half of a guy going "What the f**k!?, What The F**K". The movie was so bad and unscary it got to the point where me and my friends were laughing the movie was so bad. It was boring and nothing even happended for the first 30 minutes of the movie. The only part that was the slightest bit scary was the ending. Don't waste your time on this movie.
Paranormal Activity was a great movie. This movie was always left you in suspense of what was going to happen next. This movie is not for young children, it could be scary for them. Some of the scenes in this movie are predictable. At the end of it, it really surprised me that they both died; I just figured it would have just been the main female actor in the movie.
I have seen a lot of movies in my time, and the one that sticks out the most would have to be Paranormal Activity. The reason it sticks out to me is because, in this movie there were particular parts that were “scary”. Such as there family of two living out there regular lives. Until the activity start’s up. The couple used there own cam corder so collect evidence to back up there paranormal activity. What they find is nothing more than astonishing. By night 21 it gets so bad that the girl gets dragged out of her bed and through the hall by the entity. She ends up getting possessed and kills her fiancé. She is yet to be found to this day
Well first off I would like to mention is that this movie isn't for extremely young kids like M.Logan said in a review below. 3 years and up is way off. This movie is meant to scare people and most children are easily scared. I'm only 18 and I remember watching some scary movies that gave me nightmares at a young age. Now the movie it self... people complain well it's not scary. Well it's not for all people, many different things scare many different things. So of course not everyone will be scared by it. But the whole movie sense is based on a more shock scare than anything... so in other words things happen with out you expecting it which can cause some people to jump a-little and make others pee there pants. So obviously it all depends on your mind set. There is really no blood and gore except in maybe one or two parts in the movie. So it's good but not for all people.
I absolutely hate horror movies, I have a pretty weak stomach even though most games and stuff I play is pretty scary and gory. This for that matter, is not. I watched this in the dark at about 11pm in the evening, with a surround sound system and it didn't scare me one bit. I have to admit, one bit made me jump a little but its not really disturbing. Terrible. Just like the second too.
I know I know a lot of people werent happy with this but i think its finnaly a scary movie i can watch with my kids theyve been begging and begging me to watch a scary movie and i think this ones okay its scary without blood gore and sex. i jumped out of my seet and so did my kids but it was one of those movies when after you just say to yourself that was not scary honestly i loved it and so did my kids fun and scary movie expeirience so excited for the third
paranormal activity is a boring and stupid movie to watch only for your older teens and parents this movie has some mild violence at the end of the movie and there's also some strong language used.
I think paranormal activity is extremely unique because it didn't need any blood or gore to scare me and leaves that creepy feeling at the mysterious ending.
It still has a bit of language that is appropriate for smaller children but anybody 11 and up is ok, but be warned if you are easily scared don't bother watching this great indie horror
Tweens can watch scary movies, just not the ones that will wet their pants...
This movie is nothing more than another "documentary" like horror film. ex. Blair Witch, Cloverfield, etc.
Since horror or thriller depends on what the kid can handle, then I guess 13 and older can watch. But not for kids that scare really easily.
great movie. not too much violence and its a real scare for kids. i would recommend it to all. not much language or violence either so let your kids watch it
A very disappointing movie that did not have any scares or suspense. It does not terrify whatsoever. The longer you watch, the more bored you get. This is not a "scarefest," it is not terrifying and I have no desire to see the sequels. Movies like these just don't work. The movie spends most of it's time dealing with the lives of the main characters, and a only small portion of the movie is devoted to "scares" that last no longer than two seconds each. You don't worry about what may happen, and I think that any child five or older could watch it without getting nightmares. That's my opinion, anyway, but I'll just recomment the film for people twelve years of age or older, because I'm probably wrong. Overall, this movie is no scarier than your average comedy, just not as funny. It probably would be more terrifying with blood and gore. This is just a Youtube video, nothing more. It's less entertaining than most Youtube videos, and the camerawork here is worse than most Youtube videos. Please don't buy or even rent this film unless you're afraid of everything. You don't need to force yourself to watch this boredom. Awful, useless trash.
Paranormal Activity was nowhere NEAR as scary as I thought it would be! It was actually quite boring and slow. Kids and adults with vivid imaginations and a hefty dose of superstition will probably appreciate it (and jump) more. As far as inappropriate stuff goes, there's nothing much here except for swearing. Even young teens should be ok.
