This was rated pg-13 for a reason. It is too violet and loud for many of the younger audiences, My other son, who is 8, saw the T.V. version (TV-14)(it was my mistake to think is was edited) had nightmares for weeks about planes bombing the house in our sleep. 13+ ONLY or for very mature 12 year olds.

Why are people shocked that this is inappropriate for children?
I can't believe there are parents on here freaking out about how it's not appropriate for kids. Why would you let your child watch a PG-13 movie? There is absolutely no indication that children under 13 should watch this film. If your child saw it and had nightmares, that's YOUR responsibility. Anyway, this was a beautiful film! I felt like it was pretty accurate. The only thing that annoyed me was the love triangle.

A must-see... at least one time
This is a brutally honest movie. The attack on Pearl harbor is brilliant, exciting, and devastating. Everything else in the movie is... pointless. Perhaps it's good to get to know the characters, but would have the movie been any less intense during the Pearl Harbor scene if we didn't know the central characters? Probably not. In fact, they should have focused much more on Cuba Gooding Jr. on the ship than the lame love story between Affleck and Beckinsale. Is anyone with me on this? I don't mean to bash any actor's abilities (because they played their parts great), but I believe it would have been more intense with Gooding Jr. at the center of attention. Parents: Please note that this is an extremely intense and violent movie, especially during the Harbor attack. In fact, I believe this should have been rated R. There is some love-making and plenty of language. Plus, some drinking is seen. What I would have rated it: R for Intese Prolonged Realistically Graphic War Sequences, Disturbing Images, and Language. Bottom Line: This is a great movie that could have done without a couple of scenes. Thanks for reading! - Movie Man

THE Pearl Harbor
World War II was a devastating thing that happened on December 7, 1941. This movie makes you keep in mind how gruesome this attack was. Pearl Harbor was an excellent film and one of the best movies I have ever seen. This is definitely my favorite movie of all time. I actually went and bought this movie and the money was well spent. The movie was based on a love story mixed with some drama and a lot of action. This would be a great movie for the guys because the action is absolute. You ladies know you love, love stories so this could be for you. This movie is basically about two kids growing up as best friends Rafe, and Danny, who were always there for one another that grew up, fell in love and joined the War. Ben Affleck played as Rafe and Josh Hartnett played the role of Danny. Rafe fell in love with Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale) and after going off to War he crashed into the water and was reported dead and after a few months went by his best friend Danny ended up falling in love with her. He came back unexpected and a lot of conflict aroused. The movie is really long but the cast performed very well and the war scenes were remarkably astute. I would recommend you see the movie if you haven’t and would hope you be fond of it like I did. (It is rated PG-13)
