This movie depicts war in the most graphic, brutal fashion possible. In other words, it depicts war as it truly is. I think Pearl Harbor did an outstanding job displaying the horror and pain Japan's attack on Hawaii caused, as well as the true cost of war itself. Definatly the bombing scenes and shooting scenes are bloody-gorey, but what do you expect from a WW II movie? Nevertheless, I wouldn't let a sensitive younger kid watch it. The sex scene in the parachute hanger seemed a little uneccessary to me, but without it the very end wouldn't have made sense, I suppose. Still, I didn't like it, and I wouldn't let a kid watch it. Danny and his army buddy get so drunk that they pass out and miss half the bombing the next morning. I think that counts as overdrinking. The role models are good because they know their duty as men in the service, and their hearts are in the right places. They know right from wrong. Overall, epic movie.

Our social studies teacher has poor judgement as to what kind of videos we are shown in class, and this is one of the examples. (We only saw the disaster sequence when the bombing occured.) I don't know about the rest of the kids reviewing this but this movie gave me nightmares. It's very, very disturbing! My best friend even began crying watching it. It's an OK movie if you want to see a realistic depiction of the Pearl Harbour bombing, but if you're sort of squeamish and are bothered by stuff like this, this is not a movie you're going to enjoy.

This is a really good movie if you like disaster movies, or WWII stuff. If you like that you would love this movie, you would watch it over and over again. This movie is quite sad, and graphic for 10 and under. When the attack of the japanese hit it is very disturbing. Good for ages 11 and up.

very good movie but sooo sad 13+

Like others say, it's excellent with the battle scenes, but cheesy with the love story- I couldn't agree more. Our social studies teacher let us watch it today. The beginning was basicly twenty minutes or more of the 'love' issue. But in a way, they make up for it when it came to the attack. You're basicly jumping out of your seat and it gives you chills. It keeps well with the story line when it came to the real historical event, and you're almost crying while seeing so many people die tragicly. I agree with WaterNymph- of course it's not appropreate for children! What was your first clue? I don't see why I'm bothering clicking the 'too violent' button, concidering that is the whole point.

This movie is really good. The first half was a little slow but after that the pace really picked up. 11+. I don't get why everyone is saying it's so violent. It wasn't that violent.Warning: If you are planning to watch this movie, make sure you have some tissues with you.

Not enough plot, but the special effects were something else.
