Parents need to know that kids who love animals will love this video. PMK's teenaged hosts interact with a wild variety of creatures from alligators to polar bears to praying mantises. There are plenty of educational segments, including how to build an iguana cage and tips on training the family dog.
Kids love animals, and POPULAR MECHANICS FOR KIDS: GATORS AND DRAGONS AND OTHER WILD BEASTS features some of the strangest, creepiest, and most dangerous creatures out there. In entertaining and informative episodes, the show's hosts explore zoos to learn about how they care for their animals, wrestle alligators in the Everglades, work on swamp preservation in Louisiana, return a polar bear who was getting too comfortable in town to the wild, and feed big chunks of raw meat to various scary carnivores.
This series has a strong emphasis on science and conservation, but never at the expense of the fun and wonder of the natural world. And there are plenty of ideas that can come in handy in the real world, from teaching your cat to use the toilet to avoiding bears on a camping trip. Safety is always emphasized, and the end result is fun and informative.
Families can talk about the projects they learned about in this show, and come up with plans to work on some of their own projects together.
