Wow! This is a wonderful, family friendly movie, but some scenes can be quite scary. In one of the beginning scenes, and old lady is trying to kill Remy with her gun, although she does not succeed. As a result of her shooting all over her house to get Remy, all the rats have to escape. Then later, Remy's dad takes him to a place where lots of dead rats are shown, and this could be quite disturbing to younger viewers. People in the dining place seem to be drinking wine. But you will learn many positive messages in this movie, and both Remy and Linguini are great role models. Get this movie!
The last Pixar movie I saw was Finding Nemo, and then I decided I had grown out of Disney movies. Then my sister dragged me to this, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm 12, and I still thought this was fantastic. But parents, be warned; lots of violence (including guns and kitchen violence)and some drug reference (wine.) Other than that, bring your kids to this and enjoy!
This movie is sweet and positive. It's a great family movie. In one of the first scenes, there's some stuff that can be a little intense for sensitive children (the main character loses his family and nearly drowns). But the movie quickly heals itself; the main character, Remy the rat, goes to follow his dreams. There's something in it for every member of the family.
I loved this movie. But I do have to agree with alot of the other ratings. There were alot of suprising scenes. For me it was the scene with the couple fighting and Linguini and Colette's *passionett* kisses. When I saw the scene with the couple arguing I was thinking "I don't think this should be in a G rated movie." and I'm sure I'm not alone. As for the Linguini/Colette kisses I thought that was another thing that didn't seem aproprite for a G rated movie. Excellent movie , but I think it should've been rated PG.
Ratatouille (Rat-a-too-ee) is about a rat that doesn't want to eat trash and wants to eat HUMAN food. He goes to get a cook book from an old lady's house and the rat almost gets killed!!! There are some funny parts as well...but the rat turns up in France, Paris where he becomes a chef under a new chef teenager boy's cooking hat! The rat then becomes the teenager's friend a helps him cook! But will the rat be shown and will his cooking be nice?
There is mild violence and langauge!
this movie is probably the best family movie i have ever watched! But it dose have a few things, like most movies.
violence: a few places with violence,
1. this old grandma with a shotgun shoots at remmy and his brother
2.the chefes swing stuff at remmy like, knives, brooms ect.
3.one chef is claiming he was in jail for killing a man.
sex:
just a litle kissing ect.
alcohal: costumers are heard ordering wine, and the "bad guy" uses wine to get the main chatecter drunk.
social behvaviore:
linguine learns to give credit to remmy for his help.
so overall I say this is a must see for all familys with kids 12 and under!
There's some violence against rats and kissing (I agree, the fighting couple was very unnecessary), but the movie itself was cute, original, and creative.
