Enjoyable movie that spans worlds
I first learned about America Ferrera this weekend listening to an interview with Krista Tippett on the podcast On Being. I was so impressed, I wanted to watch a movie of hers and this one stood out. She also mentioned it in her interview.
This movie was such a delight and so poignant -- showing what life is like for many people I know who have similar immigrant and refugee backgrounds. Honestly, it reminded me of what happens in many other poor places as well, such as rural white America that I grew up in.
I highly recommend this film!
