Rocky Horror Picture Show’s a movie about love, betrayal, and trans-sexuality? This is a captivating musical staring Tim Curry is a movie meant to make you laugh, cry, make you mad, and possibly make a mess.
This movie has excellent acting, fun scenery, am hilarious plot, but REALLY cheesy special effects, especially when it comes to the final scene. I would watch this master-piece of a film again and again.
Well,I liked it because of it's music and it's uniqueness. It is as it says. Kids, avoid. Teens, maybe. Positive:shows it's ok to be different. Negative:sexual themes.
WATCH. THIS. MOVIE. This is by far my favorite movie of all time. It not only features strange behavior, it practically promotes it! That is something that I have to appreciate. If you would like to see this movie, know this: there is sex. There is also sex, along with more sex. For most of the film, you will be feasting your eyes upon a transvestite. You get used to this quickly. There are scenes of adultery, gay sex, sex (none of which are shown) and brief flashes of one character's might-as-well-be-bare breasts. Language is what you would expect for an R, and violence is so cheesy that it is comical. Some may find one scene disturbing in which the characters find out that they have just eating a scrumptious dinner of human entrails. The hard way. The body is shown eviscerated, but in a very comical way. Nothing a mature teen cannot handle. Laugh, sing along to the songs, and enjoy. No, seriously. Watch it. NOW.
Honestly, this is an awesome movie. I got to watch this because I love Glee, and I also just like watching old movies. I asked my Dad if I could watch it, he looked up at the cieling, trying to remember it, and said sure. It was good. It has brief nudity, a flash of boobs, and close ups of people frozen into naked statues (think the David by Michelangelo). Over all, I think the message of be yourself may not come across clear to young kids. But one thing I am FOR SURE about though, is that I want to go to a midnight showing one day!(:
I'm 17 & yes the movie is a cult classic, & it's awsome to watch, but to those who think it's not a big deal to show it to a 10 year old...i don't know.
I wouldn't want my kids watching a man trying to sleep with another man or woman. I don't really care about the cross dressing but I rather show my kids (if i had kids) this movie when they're older & appreciate it more then making a child who's not even a teen yet watch it & be confused by it. just my opinion
This movie is amazing. I watch it every halloween. Going to see it live is even better. It's all about crowd participation. However, for the live show's I'd say 18+. Watching it at home though is fine for any age. It's a classic movie and is not too bad for any age.
This movie was extremely amazing. It is probably one of my favorite movies ever made and also one of my favorite musicals. The songs are amazing! It was a very entertaining, funny movie that everyone would like. I think anyone who loves musicals will love this movie. Anyone who loves comedies will love this movie. WATCH IT!!
this movie was really good! its extremely bizarre, but if you like that kind of thing its good! theres a lot of sexual content, no nudity or anything is actually shown, but a lot is implied. lots of basically underwear costumes, even on men. some language, but it's really pretty mild. there is one "F word" in a song, but that's it and it's not very noticeable. theres also a couple other mild words, but it's very tame. theres a small amount of violence, a man gets killed with an axe type thing, theres blood on the ground but thats it. people get killed with a very unrealistic looking "laser" (no blood). the only really bad thing is the sexual content, but even that isnt horrible for teens. nothing would really surprise them. i say if you're MATURE and at least 13-14 you could probably watch it! its a good movie!
Pointless, bizarre and sex-charged for kids, funny and interactive for grown-ups
well, i watched this last night (or technically this morning) at midnight. Special halloween treat. My mom let me watch it because Glee had done it. Anyhoo, she hadn't seen it for what, 25 years or so? so she barely remembered it. I can say this is the most bizarre movie I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I watched it alone with my mom on our TV, not in a theater. It probably would have been a lot more fun with all of the interactive stuff happening. This is a totally sex based movie and I had to have my eyes shut for about half of it. The only two songs in it that I enjoyed were "Time Warp" and "D*** it, Janet". It is most definitely a mature movie and it's pointless if you watch it at a young age. tons and tons of sex. I probably shouldn't have watched it at all. Violence... one guy is hacked open with I think it was an ax and his guts are all coming out. that's it. About half way through my mom suggested we turn it off because she hadn't remembered quite how bad it was, and she said there's no way she'd let my 11 year old sister watch it. Sure, this is definitely a classic. But if you are going to watch it, wait until AT LEAST 14. Have your parents watch it first so they know when to cover your eyes. Then go to a midnight theater screening. Warn your kids what's coming. Tell them things like that they might get wet or pelted with toast. Explain to them that this movie is supposed to be funny because of the interactions. Tell them they will have to close their eyes for some of it and that it is a privilege that the parents are allowing them to watch it. But remember to make sure they know that it's for fun! Enjoy! I'm glad I can now say I've seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
I saw it first when I was 13, and my parents had no problem with that. We're a very open family though. I think age-appropriateness should be decided by individual families.
Classic! It's sexy, funny, campy, and all together, one of the best movies ever made
My MPAA Rating, R: strong sexual behavior, questioning of sexuality, cross dressing, sexual innuendo, a brief affair, Open sexuality, seductive behavior
My school did a version of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". I loved it. There was some controversy because I was only in gold skimpy underwear, but it was fine. We had fun, and I loved it. So much fun!!!!! It's a classic!
I actually didn't see the film, how-ever I did watch the actual production. It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be as far as sexuality and language. It had some risque molments and some interesting clothes being worn. As far as the sex, Dr. frank ended up making janete believe she was haveing sex with brad, and then he took off the condom and showed it fall to the ground. The pretty much the same with brad just differently. Janete end up seeing brad so she sleeps with Rocky and then everything is basically a mess.
I love Magenta!!
and im not sure if the movie is like that i just know the actual show is (rocky horror show) (notice there isn't picture or fim) and yeah overall its great and I enjoyed watching my friend perform in it!
