Rocky Horror Picture Show’s a movie about love, betrayal, and trans-sexuality? This is a captivating musical staring Tim Curry is a movie meant to make you laugh, cry, make you mad, and possibly make a mess.
This movie has excellent acting, fun scenery, am hilarious plot, but REALLY cheesy special effects, especially when it comes to the final scene. I would watch this master-piece of a film again and again.
I'm 17 & yes the movie is a cult classic, & it's awsome to watch, but to those who think it's not a big deal to show it to a 10 year old...i don't know.
I wouldn't want my kids watching a man trying to sleep with another man or woman. I don't really care about the cross dressing but I rather show my kids (if i had kids) this movie when they're older & appreciate it more then making a child who's not even a teen yet watch it & be confused by it. just my opinion
This movie is amazing. I watch it every halloween. Going to see it live is even better. It's all about crowd participation. However, for the live show's I'd say 18+. Watching it at home though is fine for any age. It's a classic movie and is not too bad for any age.
I actually didn't see the film, how-ever I did watch the actual production. It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be as far as sexuality and language. It had some risque molments and some interesting clothes being worn. As far as the sex, Dr. frank ended up making janete believe she was haveing sex with brad, and then he took off the condom and showed it fall to the ground. The pretty much the same with brad just differently. Janete end up seeing brad so she sleeps with Rocky and then everything is basically a mess.
I love Magenta!!
and im not sure if the movie is like that i just know the actual show is (rocky horror show) (notice there isn't picture or fim) and yeah overall its great and I enjoyed watching my friend perform in it!
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of the best musicals of the 70's if not of all time. I love this movie. I saw it for the first time about 6 months ago and instantly fell in love with it. The songs were brilliant and the plot is pretty good. This is not a kids movie at all. I would say that this movie would be good for anyone 14 and above. This movie was Susan Surandon and Tim Curry's debut. If you haven't seen this before, Go and rent it quickly.
You haven't lived until you've sang the Time Warp.
In this cult classic, you should know what you're getting into just by looking at the cover and hearing of it's infamy. Campy, kitschy, and delightfully ridiculous, the Rocky Horror Picture Show is something that everyone needs to see at least once in their lifetime.
Not appropriate for the kids, by your definition of appropriate. A lot of implied sex, but there's nothing really shown at all.
A word of advice for all ages watching this classic: don't take any of it more seriously than it takes itself. Which isn't seriously in the slightest. If you're easily offended, let the sweeping sounds of Frank-N-Furters electric knife sooth you.
And once you finish with this one, go to the sequel Shock Treatment - trust me, I'm a doctor.
im just a SWEET TRANSVESTITE! FROM TRANS SEXUAL TRANSYLVANIA!!!!!
rocky horror picture show, is just plain wierd, it is interesting and unique musical, but it mainly about transvetite, and it is really really really wierd, their is alot of bisexual in this. there is a scene where they show a magazine for like a split second and they show a fully nude woman, but it goes away quick (boobs and nipples are visible). and there is a few quick nude shots at the very end.
Considering my parents strong opinions on what I should and shouldn't see, I'm shocked I was allowed to watch it. That said, this movie is extremely funny, but it really depends on your sense of humor. Some of my friends and I thought it was hysterical, but a lot of people I know thought it was just stupid. The movie is extremely sexual, including three sex scenes (including a guy on guy one), and you can see Columbia's breasts for all of one scence, however, I didn't notice the first few times I saw it. Brad, Janet and Rocky are in underware for most of the film. Also, there are many sexual references, and there are naked statues. Nothing else is really an issue, except some characters are killed. Eddie is killed, however, you just see Frankenfurter going after him with a pick axe, and you see him come back covered in blood. Then, you see his cut up body later in the film. The language isn't really there, except for the song, "Dammit Janet" and there is one use of the f-word. This movie really depends on how mature your kids are, but everything bad in it is ment comically.
My best friends daughter loves this movie and she is 4 i don't see anything wrong with it, i mean not letting them watch it and saying it's because Tim is dressed like a woman is wrong if the kids wanna dress like than thats fine but maqybe not to school. As far as the sex thing woth Brad and Janet and Rocky and Frank she didn't know. But i mean she has watched worse like Saw 1,2 and 3.
this movie is amazing, get over the crossdressing.
i think it's ridiculous that this film is apparently only considered appropriate for peoples 17 and over. the thing about this is that people not mature enough to fully understand it, will just find it funny. and if they are mature enough to understand it, then they were obviously ready to see it anyway.
17+ for this film is ridiculous.
i mean, if you aren't okay with your child seeing a human nipple, then by all means, give this one a pass, but really, this film is a classic and should be enjoyed.
This film is so bizzar but you can't help but love it. It has great music and a very weird sense of humor. It alot of fun to see in the theater but easier to understand if you watch it at home first.
