Our daughter loves this movie. She watched it last year when she was about 2 1/2 and loved it. The snow monster is a bit scary, but she handled it just fine and continued on watching the movie. That is the only part that is a bit iffy. This year, the snow monster doesn't phase her too much. She talks about him being scary, but she is more interested in Santa and Rudolph that the monster isn't such a big deal. I think it is a great Christmas classic for kids!

Fun for my 3 yr old!

Great for tweens and teens
Keep in mind that Rudolph isn't for really young children because of the snow monster, but anyone older than 10 should love Rudolph. It's fun for the whole family if your children are tweens or teens.

too scary for 4 yr old
My 4 1/2 year old was terrified of the snow monster. I left the room for a bit while he was watching and came back to him huddling under the couch sobbing from fright. He is on the sensitive side, but I think this is better for older children.

A little too scary for our 3-year-old
We carefully screen shows for our 3-yr-old, but he saw this one without our previously viewing it. Had we seen it, we would not have let him watch it at this point. We fast-forwarded through the abominable snow monster because it was making him a bit frightened and our child asked to get to the part where Rudolph pulled the sled. Our other concern was that the guy with the dogsled had a gun in his waistband (don't know if he used it because we fast-forwarded through that too.)

This is such a great movie! I watched it every year and enjoyed the animation, the music, and the story. I remember my favorite character was Herbie (or Hermey... my mum called him 'Herbie', so that just stuck).
