I was disappointed in this movie. It was basically pointless, and full of stupid and not funny jokes, and many are crud. Approprite for most audiences, but not a very good family comedy.
I thought this was a ridiculously funny movie! Laughs the whole time.
Some mild language. Slapstick humor (could be a little "violent")
Mild sexual innuendos between husband and wife. Poor role models in that the children are very rebellious and the husband lies to his wife.
Sweet message in end about family and sticking together.
Boring and degrading. The moms and the teenage daughter did their best to expode as much cleavage as possible. The Dad is a liar and does his best to hide the truth from everyone. This is horrible.
Possibly the worst movie I've seen. Simplistic, horribly stereotypical and weirdly sexual in inappropriate ways (mother figures with massive cleavage). The "white trash" families they meet along the way are portrayed as so poor and stupid that sewage flies from their trailer hoses and covers everyone with feces. What a bizarre attempt to make a "mainstream" movie. I'm all for slapstick comedies (trailers rolling backwards, etc.) but it just doesn't work in this movie. The values in this film are backward and it ends up promoting racist, classist stereotypes and bratty entitled kids. Robin Williams seemed sad to be onscreen. I'm also a Cheryl Hines fan -- I don't know why they agreed to do this movie. Hopefully their careers will recover.
There were a lot of words and terms that many parents I know would not allow at the dinner table. While children in the 8-10 range might be entertained, small children should not be expected to sit still!
I actually kind of enjoyed R.V. It really was kind of a stupid movie, but enjoyable and funny. I mean, it's not great or anything, just average, but worth seeing once. I think CSM hated it a bit too much, it wasn't bad...
I thought this movie was average. It wasn't horrible and it wasn't great. It was funny at times and slow at other times. If you like comedies this isn't a bad choice. I think kids around the age of 10 and parents of children around that age will enjoy this movie the most.
Borderline family comedy is extremely crude and not very funny
Sexual Content (Pause): Some innuendo, reference to testicles as a breakfast food.
Violence (Not an Issue): Some comic violence.
Language (Pause): Several uses of "hell", ass", "D**n", "crap", and "b**ch".
Social Behavior (Pause): Bob lies to his family. Carl and Cassie have no respect towards authority. Lots of crude humor.
Commercialism (Pause): Vaio laptops, Blackberries, iPods, Lays/Ruffles chips.
Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco (Pause): Characters drink and smoke.
