Ok for teens

I believe that teens that are not sensitive to gore should be able to watch this with a parent or guardian and not alone. For those that say 18+ it is true for some and not true for others. I watched the franchise when I was 12 and I was ok.

Whenever you are mature, or until you understand this.

Here's the thing. Gore should not be so traumatizing, due to the fact that it is just what is in your body. Nobody lives their entire life without seeing blood or gore. Another thing misunderstood about this film series, is that saw is not a deranged killer. His motive is to put people through life-threatening situations to remind them how important life is. So it is somewhat wholesome. Also, age has almost nothing to do with being mature. I am only 12 years old, believe it or not, and I regularly watch + play things rated "mature", and I'm not going around and shooting people up. So parents, if your kid wants to watch this film, then listen to them as well. Both you and them should know if they are mature enough.

Good movie

To be honest there are disturbing scenes so I would make sure to ask if your kid is comfortable watching. everyone says it's so bad but really as long as you aren't super sensitive to blood you should be fine. I first watched age 11 and loved the whole franchise. There are some scenes though that viewers may find disturbing and/or triggering.

Good for mature 13 year old

Saw is not a torture porn like most people think it is. It's also not just non-stop gore, it has a plot. I think saw is a good movie for teenages who can handle gore. Out of all the saw movies, this one (in my opinon) is the best. SOME SPOILERS Postitive rolemodels/ anything positive- 1/10, this movie is very dark. The only "good" thing mentioned in saw is someone who was put in a saw trap and survived said that it helped her. Swearing- 9/10, cussing a lot, as long as you or your kid is use to the basic curse words its not that big of a deal. TW for saw- Massive tw for self harm and suicide. If you can't handle much of those to topics do not watch Saw. Self harm- a woman is shown cutting her wrists (blood is shown) it happens in the form of a flashback and theres not much warning before they show it. Suicide- attempt is shown (car is involved) Also, I don't know if I should include this (spoilers kinda) but a man's wife and child are kidnapped and tied up. In my opinon the worst part in saw is the trama that the kid had to face and the man's reaction to when he finds out his wife and child are in danger (Bigger spoiler) both the wife and child end up being ok. GORE- 9/10, the wost parts include a woman cutting open a man's stomach and digging through his guts and (spoiler) a man cuts off his foot. These are not the only gory events tho. Overall the movie is really good in my opinon and has a really good plot with a really good plot twist and i think a 13 year old that has seem rated R horror movies should handle it ok. That being said, please do not force or pressure anymore of any age to watch something like saw. It can be very gross and tramatizing for SOME people.

"Torture porn" what the heck does that mean?

Hate that this is listed as torture porn. There is no porn or naked people. It’s cinematic art.

It really gets you scared, great movie

Very good movie. One thing I dislike is that the person who made the official review acts like this should be taken off all streaming surfaces on the planet. People think it is just for gore and to see people suffer but that's not the case! It is some physical torture, and lots of psychological, mind torture. The fact that the main character's family will die if he does not win the game. I don't know how to explain it, just you need to see it to get a better understanding of what I mean. It really gets you thinking about the physical and emotional pain the man feels. Other than that, there aren't many jump scares, except the one very good one in my opinion. I like the suspense leading up to the jump scare as well. When the jump scare hits, even thought you probably know its coming, is still very frightening. Awesome movie overall.

People are overreacting about this

I honestly don’t get what parents are saying on here, this movie really is not that bad, I have watched many R horror movies and honestly this movie should be a comedy. It is not even that scary, when people are trying to escape reverse bear trap they look like they are listening to heavy metal. But don’t make your 1 month olds watch this.
