A Truly Hilarious Sequel Much Better Than the Original!
VERY funny. One of my favorites. The only objectionable content are some mild innuendos and some mild language. Great for kids 8 and up. Highly recommended.
Even at 6+, I don't want my children to watch a "kid" movie that has inappropriate words and sexual innuendo. Should be kept out of school-aged kid movies or rated PG-13.
I watched this movie, Shrek 2, recently, and this just kind of goes along with all sequels- the number sequels are always worse. Sure, it was sort of funny in places- the "Donragons", as I call them, and maybe a few lines and... well, I don't want to give away the story! Overall it was pretty good, but there was quite a bit of "kissy-kissy" stuff and that just threw me off. Other than that it was alright, but NOTHING will ever beat Shrek (well, OK, somethings maybe, but not this movie!)!
My kids love the Shrek movies especially the "dirty" talk of snot and stinkyness! It's a big boy movie with an actual plot and too much talking for my 4yo to enjoy. I can always count on the Shrek movies for safe humor with good messages.
Shrek 2 manages to provide laughs for kids and parents alike. For a person who often rates kids movies on how long I can stay awake, this is one I saw from beginning to end. Rare blend of appropriate humor and artistry.
We took our 5 yr & 7 yr. kids.... They had no real issues with the movie. The animation is good. I would rate this movie PG only because of the crude humor.
You have to rent this movie or buy it!!! You will want to watch it over and over again. Its fine for all ages. Even the parents will laugh!!!! Take my advice, its really good!!!!
The kids loved it and so did I. Kids enjoyed the visual humor, while there was enough verbal humor that, while it went right over the kids heads, was great for grown-ups. I liked the message that love beats out beauty every time.
