When I first was allowed to watch this film, I was overwhelmed with excitement walking out of Blockbuster. When I watched it, it took me some time to realize the beauty of the whole film. Let's just say that a week later, I bought the film out of pure love.
This movie is a film for all genre loving people. There is a mixture of horror, suspense, drama, and a very hidden sense of romance (and a very strange one indeed) all included in this masterpiece.
Hannibal Lecter, now my number 1 favourite movie villain, showed the whole world that serial killers don't have to be mindless masses of flesh and bones that don't talk or know how to count, they can be more brilliant that the heroin herself. And by the way, the endless brilliance and intelligence of Hannibal makes him, oh, about 20x scarier than Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Leatherface combined.
So, what I am trying to say is, anyone who doesn't like this movie, YOUR ON MY LIST.
