Great movie know one under the age of 13 should see it
Great movie, very interesting, not to graphic compared to what i thought it was going to be, but when the prisoner through his "bodily fluids" ie. his sperm at clarice, it was a little over the top

are you kidding me people? half of the reviews rated it ok for kids 12+? it is gorey, violent, lots of sexual behavior. (it's about a cannibal and a guy who is making a suit of human skins!!!!) NOT ok for any kids under 15 or so.

Not worth seeing if you were given one R-rated movie to watch, but still good, especially the climax.
I was looking for a good scare when I watched this movie. The first half of the movie wasn't R-rated whatsoever. They had negative moments in it, but it was just boring. The second half dealt with a drag queen (naked at one point, full frontal nudity of a half man half woman) and there was a lot more swearing in the second half. Many violent attacks with creepy blood when Hannibal eats someone. Praises murderers works throughout the movie. There is a cannibal who talks about eating people constantly. One lady is tortured and stuck in a well and swears.

The greatest villain of all time?
Maybe. That was AFI's and EW's reaction. It struck me funny Hopkins got a Best Actor win instead of Supporting Actor because of his low screen time. Anyways it was fully merited, he's so creepy it's sometimes uncomfortable to watch. Catch the version on TV to avoid any disturbing stuff listed in CSM's review. I probably would've ended up seeing this even if it wasn't on my list of Best Pictures to see.

It is okay
The movie was slow. It had barely no violence, but Buffalo Bill is a psycho.

Serial killers don't have to be stupid.
When I first was allowed to watch this film, I was overwhelmed with excitement walking out of Blockbuster. When I watched it, it took me some time to realize the beauty of the whole film. Let's just say that a week later, I bought the film out of pure love. This movie is a film for all genre loving people. There is a mixture of horror, suspense, drama, and a very hidden sense of romance (and a very strange one indeed) all included in this masterpiece. Hannibal Lecter, now my number 1 favourite movie villain, showed the whole world that serial killers don't have to be mindless masses of flesh and bones that don't talk or know how to count, they can be more brilliant that the heroin herself. And by the way, the endless brilliance and intelligence of Hannibal makes him, oh, about 20x scarier than Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Leatherface combined. So, what I am trying to say is, anyone who doesn't like this movie, YOUR ON MY LIST.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING
Awesome movie. I love scary movies and I watched this when I was 13, but it is more disturbing than scary. The only bad things are the violence which is DISTURBING and some language. Anthony Hopkins is amazing, but his character is portrayed as a genius which doesn't send out a good message because the guy eats people....If you are around 13 or 14, watch this movie on t.v. and close your eyes.

e.g. Perfect for older kids, but not for tweens
It's very insulting to homosexuals, and much of Hannibal Lecter's magical brilliance remains unexplained and somewhat impossible. Still, it is an improvement on the horror films of the 1980s.

holy crap!
A very good thriller/horror movie. For once a killer is actually smart. I hate in other movies when killers are just complete idiots that just go around with an ax and chop peoples heads off. Hannibal is very clever and resourceful. Its a very gross creepy movie but plot wise a very good movie!

ONE OF THE BEST FILMS EVER MADE!!!
The Sience of the Lambs was an amazing movie. Before I watched it, I was told that is was very scary. I watched and loved it, but it did not scare me one bit. And just so you know I do not watch horror movies, and this did not scare me. It had the creepy idea of skinning people to make suit out of human flesh, but it was not 'scary', just creepy at times. It is not as horror, but is very much a thriller. The violence is pretty minimal. There are a few scenes where you see photos of dead rotten nude bodies, but not a lot is shown. Also a few chaarcters observe one of these bodies on a table and observe it. There is only a few times when you actually see the dead body, but most of them are just showing the ankles nad hands and a shot of its face. Half way through the movie, a cannibal breaks out of his holding cell, and is a bit bloody. One man is bitten in the face , not very explicit, and another is beaten to death with a police stick. We also later on assume that a mans face was cut off. Police men find a dead body with a little bit of blood around his head, although it is dark and hard to make out. Another mans body is hung up on his cell, with his stomach ripped open (brief scene). At the end of a the film a character is shot repeadily, and blood comes from his mouth. This scene is very suspensful and very much an edge of your seat moment because it is in the dark. There is about 20 uses of f*ck, many other mild swears and 2 uses of c*nt, but are used by a special needs man, and later his line is repeated by a different character. The sex in this film really accounts for the R rating. People flirt with Jodie Foster's character, but nothing to explicit. We see the rear end of a nude dead body, but is at a distance is brief. A man sits nude at a desk, although nothing is shown. Also we breifly see Buffalo Bill's women suit, which has pubic hair and one breast, this is a very brief sceneis at far distance. At the beginning a man throws his semen at women, it is a little strange, but he is special needs. Eventually a character drag dances in front of a camera. We see him from the front completely nude, although he has his penis and testicles tucked between his legs. Only his pubic hair is seen. This is a brief scene, that only goes on for about 3-4 seconds. Over all this movie is amazing and is a must see. Now go and see this film, because I understand you have a plane to catch, so fly away, fly away, fly away...(quote by Hannibal)

OMG!
I saw it about 2 weeks ago and it was amazing, very gory but if your not grossed out easily then you should watch it, the only thing that is bad is the language. Also there is full frontal nudity ( sort of) so high on the sex. but a great movie anyway!

one of my favorites
The silence of the lambs is one of mny favorite movies. Anthony Hopkins' interpretation as Dr. Lecter is just amazing. Jodie Foster is also a great actrss. I read the novel before watching the movie, and I prefer the novel, it's quite better, but anyway, the movie is great, I rate it 8/10
