Racism abounds

Loads of people talk about the sexism, potential date rape, nudity, and swearing, but I haven’t seen one review in which they discuss the racism. The main character’s has a Chinese exchange student, crudely named Long Duck Dong (are you kidding me?!) staying with them and he is essentially treated like some kind of pet and portrayed as idiotic and like every horrible caricature of an Asian person ever created. As much as I enjoyed as a teenager, I implore you to discuss all these questionable moments in the movie if you decide to watch it with your teenager. That is the only way we can affect real change otherwise they will think this behavior is acceptable.

The Rating is actually R

It’s a great nostalgic film for me. But as a parent now... I forgot about the details... yes naked girl in the shower at the beginning and swearing of course and basically all about partying and getting laid. Really funny movie. But they have the rating wrong. It’s an R movie.

I think John Hughes was a Pedohile

Completely naked teen girl in shower. Close up of breasts and bottom and entire head to toe. Lots of sex. Drinking. Drugs. Swearing. Just gross! These are teen kids!!!

This movie should just retire from old age.

This movie did not age well! Just watched it with my 15 year old daughter and had to have several discussions with her on racism, sexism, taking advantage of people when they are under the influence, and how all the casual references to being a “homo” or “retard” is not ok. Wish we had picked something different.

Sixteen Corn Holes

John Hughes must have been on crack when he made this because this ain’t it chief. I feel so sorry for everybody who was exploited for this crap. The underwear trade-off and the gong sounds every three seconds should be enough to tell you this movie is a steaming pile of horse crap. I’d rather burn myself with sixteen actual candles and jump off a cliff like that guy in Lord of the Rings 3 then ever watch this garbage again. (PS: I saw this on TV…with DISCLAIMERS every three seconds…let That sink in…)

amazing movie!

I'm saying age 10 and up because there's some language elements and a nude scene but it's not in a sexual way or anything. Various uses of f-ck, sh-t, d-ck, and some others but as long as your kid won't go around saying all of it, you should be fine. There's also some drug use but it's not like your child is going to go buy a billion cigarettes after watching.

80's Hijinks

Classic movie , But is a reflection of that era. Culture has changed so certain scenes containing world perspectives about sex, And being less respective to others feelings. So remember it's a time capsule from decades, past.
