Kid reviews for Sixteen Candles

This movie is racist, homophobic, and extremely sexist and immoral. The Asian international student embodies all crude racist stereotypes American society has created of Asian people. The main character calls a boy an offensive homophobic slur as if it were nothing but a mild insult. There are many things in this movie that are unpleasant, in poor taste and inappropriate but the most SHOCKING, AWFUL, thing is that a girl is RAPED and they treat it like no big deal. The main character's love interest allows his current girlfriend, who is EXTREMELY DRUNK to be taken away by a pervy "geek" to have sex with her. The Geek kid gets his friends to take photos of the drunk girl as proof. The next day after the girl gets raped she says she actually didn't mind it. Her boyfriend casually apologises for letting it happen and she says "oh it's okay. It actually wasn't that bad." As if that's how someone would react to waking up in the arms of a gross little boy and realising he had sex with you without your consent. This was just disgusting and disturbing! I cannot believe this passes as humour. It is ignorance and insensitivity, sexism and racism. I think it sends a terrible message to young people that rape is not a big deal. The Geek and the boyfriend should have been faced with criminal charges. I think if one already know's how serious and devastating sexual assault and rape are then they can probably watch this movie. But honestly it's not worth it. All the characters are pretty one dimensional and uninteresting. I understand it's "a classic" but I was very unimpressed.

A story about a lonely girl and her life. But the people who made this movie elaborated on that. It is an amazingly funny movie and a sexy one too. There is a shower scene where the camera pans in on a woman’s breasts. There is also talk about sex too. There is strong language from time to time and a party in which everyone is mostly drunk and sexy acting. But it’s so awesome. Another 80s classic and a one to remember. Not really a family move and for kids about 15-16+

I love this movie so much but at the beginning you can see a teen girls breasts and butt. There's a lot of sex and talk about sex and drugs. And a lot of gay people being gross. (I'm gay so it hurt a little bit) but over all it's amazing movie and I will look by it!

I love this movie so much. There is sexism, female chest nudity, cussing, and some crude, and racist humor. It is also very positive in self empowerment, and being yourself and not caring what people think. It is my 2nd favorite 80's movie. I definitely recommend people to watch it, because it will change your life like it did mine! Have fun watching it!

I say thirteen but it really depends there are a lot of bad scenes and racist stuf that common sense dident mention but i think it would be fine for 13/12

I rewatched this recently and I lowkey forgot how much I loved it.

There was nearly full nudity of a woman in the shower. During the entire movie, teens talk about sex. Sex with a passed-out drunk female is implied. Teen boy trades sex with his girlfriend for a pair of teen girl's underwear. Discriminatory words such as "fa**ot" were used frequently during the film. I suggest permission from an adult to watch this movie if you are under 13.

I say 12 and up just because of the one nude scene. Other than that it's just achohol and basic pg-13 type cursing.
