I think this film is the best Jackie Chan movie ever done!!!!!!!
There is no inappropriate scenes there is a lot of fighting but they don't show any one after getting kicked in the head arm ect. There is absolutely no bad language drinking, drugs, but there are a LOT of funny parts!!!!!!! Plus the kid actor/actresses are good to! And besides Jackie Chan there is Bill Ray Cyrus and "Sportacus" From LazyTown.
The way that children treat and speak to adults is terrible and the acting particularly of the children is awful. No matter how much your children beg, I wouldn't wast your time.
A funny action-packed movie with no gore and lots of laughs
Our family very much enjoyed the movie. We were laughing the whole time. Why our family liked it and others did not, I have no clue. But maybe, it could be that we had low expectations and that my husband and I are big fans of the old "Get Smart" series and perhaps that my husband enjoyed watching marital art movies when he was a kid. So both he and I loved it for those reasons. At first, I quickly complained about the acting, but DH said to look at it as a spoof on James Bond movies. Then, it made more sense. Yes, some of the acting could have been better but then it would not have been a spoof on the traditional "Spy vs. Russian" theme. Spoofing utilizes stereotyping -and that is my only complaint of this movie- of Russsian spies with heavy accents. It was action packed filled with spy gadgets and technology and the violence comprised of run-of-the-mill martial art kicking, hitting, throwing, etc. Our kids have not watched violent movies and they do not like them. This was a safe movie for them to watch as there is no gore/blood whatsoever. There are a couple of sexual innuendos that I missed myself, and our kids had no clue. If you are looking for it, you'll find it, but if that's not a tense subject within your family, it goes right over the kids heads. I liked the fact that it depicted a mixed-race relationship. I also liked that the children turned from "not liking" Bob to "liking" him; and that Bob was a compassionate male figure for all 3 children helping them overcome bullying, and feeling part of a family. It was impressive seeing a guy choose to care for his girlfriends' children by himself while she was away on a family emergency, albeit, in his own quirky, gadget-filled way.
The movie is entertaining for kids because of the action, but not appropriate for 8 year olds. The kids in the movie are horrible in the first half. They say awfully disrespectful things to adults like "I hate this family" "Get out of my room!". They also use words like "freakin'" and tell each other they're going to kill each other when fighting. A little boy tells an older girl that she has a great body. The adults make tasteless jokes like "that's like having rum cake at an AA meeting" and "Why get married? You're going to hate her in 5 years anyway so just give her your house now." I usually agree with these reviews, but this one was way off and a disappointment.
Great movie for a 7+ year old boys and girls who enjoy action. We watched as a whole family and everyone was laughing and enjoying the movie. Even the grandmother.
