    Great movie, tame for PG-13

An excellent film, by far the best of the Star Wars prequels. After much pleading on his part, I finally showed it to my then-8-year-old and warned him of the harsher parts. He's since watched it several times (with others of his 8 and 9-year-old friends) and loves it. The two PG-13 parts (Anakin killing the younglings (all done off-screen) and his immolation at the end) should viewed by parents before showing them to kids younger than 11, but for a PG-13 movie, it's pretty tame.

    Too Violent

The scene with Anakin being burned and then some sort of horrible squirming figure left behind is too much for young children.

This time I wouldn't bring real littlies

An important piece of the Star Wars story and the opening is stupendous. Normally I tend of put a lot of faith in the resilience of kids imaginations if you get them to talk about things with you but I would not have taken a kid under 10 to see this movie because even I found the wounds recieved by Annakin cringe making. It's long been part of Star Wars lore (since the 80s or so) that that battle took place and that that is how Darth Vader came to need his suit but it is different to see it so graphically on the screen. Also I was very concerned that Obi Wan, the supposed good guy boes not render assistance after Annakin has been defeated and worse still leaves him for dead. I know that Obi Wan had to exit that scene so that Palpatine could find him and put him in his suit but to just have him abandon his duty of care to his aprentice and walk away was shocking. I would have preferred that forces beyond Obi Wan's control took him away.

A great star wars movie. The violence is just sci fi stuff and nothing to worry about. But i put 12 and up because the movie is a lil creepy itself. The end has a disturbing image of someone burning to death.

    A Darkly Rousing Ride!

REVENGE OF THE SITH had to live up to some pretty high expectations. It has to show one man's spiral down from bravery to satanic evil in 150 minutes. And it concludes the most popular and epic movie saga of all time. The good news: it exceeds all expectations and is one of the best in the series. The bad news: it isn't a family movie, unlike the other films. REVENGE OF THE SITH is definitely not one you'd choose for your kids and you to watch on Friday night. It is dark and violent, and will give youngsters nightmares. Little kids won't understand why Anakin is noble at the beginning and evil at the end. And they won't take kindly to the fact the all of the heroic Jedi from the two other prequels are killed. This is for sure the best prequel, with great acting from McGregor (as Obi-Wan) and a show-stealing performance from Ian McDarmid as Palpatine. Violence is constant. Maimings, decapitations, slittling, shooting, and an intense buring sequence that...well, let's just say it's plain and easy to see where Vader gets those ugly scars. There is no sex, drugs, or language. Even though I don't give specific examples of violence, trust me that no one under 11 should be allowed to see this film. But for those who can see it, it will be a knock-out experience. Highly recommended.

Dark ending to an excellent series

Very well done at wrapping up all the loose ends to this long saga. It was a very dark movie as Anakin gives into his evil side but stays true to the Star Wars history of an excellent film in and of itself.

    The Story is Complete...

This was an excellent movie--George Lucas finally brought just about all of the loose ends together in one fail swoop. All of my questions for the past 20+ years have been answered! Not the best acting in the world, but still a great movie. Not a film, a MOVIE. There were a few parts that were kind of violent, even though Lucas refuses to show any type of blood or gore (thank goodness!). At the end of the movie, it was pretty intense and graphic, as it had to be to portray the change into Darth Vader. Definitely not a movie for the younger set, even if they are huge Star Wars fans. I have to say this movie is only for the 10 and older crowd.

Yet Another Star Wars: Good for kids?

While the message isn't all-together negative, I don't reccomend this for kids under 12. Why? Firstly, let's start from the end. As we near the climax of the film, there is a very graphics scene of someone burning alive. In other areas, you have romance that may tend to be suitable for kids only 13+. Another great Star Wars movie, but plenty of villians, corruption in government, and other mature concepts unfit for younger kids.

    10 and up.......... maybe

The vilonce in this movie is not overwelming.. well it can be to some kids. Letting your kids watch this star wars really depends on how mature they are. I would strongly suggest waiting till there atleast 10. Some 10 year olds will be able to handle it and some others will be scared out of there mind. so just make sure your kid is mature enough when there 10. And if there older than 10 then they will probably be ok with the movie.

Easily the most adult oriented of the Star Wars series

None of the other Star Wars movies are that bad, so this one isn't going to be either, right? Wrong. This is easily the darkest of the series and involved several things that could deeply upset children, such as when Anakin goes to the Jedi temple and slaughters all of the kids and when the clone troopers turn on the Jedi and kill them all. Since this movie is meant to end on a dark note, there is no happy ending and no uplifting plot. This movie is also fairly graphic. Since lightsaber wounds apperently don't bleed they just made Anakin get three of his limbs cut off and catch on fire. Not something I would let kids see.

The film is good. But it's too violent for anyone under 10. Its a great movie and a lot better than the original saga! Obi wan Kenobi fought his former friend just because he knew it was the right thing to do. Yoda's teaching at the beginning of the movie are very inspiring! The lightsaber duel at the end is too violent, how ever.

Fun movie- but Star Wars' dark side.

The only PG-13 Star Wars, there's a reason too. From the start. Open's, as always, in space. A gigantic battle between the Sepratist, and Republic fleets. In which ships are being blown to bits. It shows a Starfighter exploding and it's pilot being thrown into space. The first real scene of violence is a duel between Anikin and Obi-wan, with Count Dukoo. It end with Obi-wan being knocked out and Anikin, without his masters guidance and with palpatine's urging, exacuting the count. Several battle scences between clones and droids, in which the clones mortality rate is shown, them being shot, crushed, blown up, and thrown from high places. Jedi are killed by palpatine and by their clone troopers. And clones killed by Obi-wan and Yoda. Anikin going evil- to "save Padme"- in which he Kills most Jedi in the Temple and almost her too. A senator friendly to the Jedi goes to the temple to investagate, where he sees a Padawan [presubably a teenager] being shot be clones. It all ends with an emotionally charged duel between Obi-Wan and Anikin, and the emperor and Yoda. That ends with Yoda having to flee, Obi-Wan maiming Anikin, he, inturn, falling into lava being burned alive, but not killed, shouting to Obi-Wan "I hate you." In the end Luke and Leia are born Padme dies and the death star begans to be built.

Violent, Somewhat Disturbing Adventure for Ages 11 and up!

Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith is the first Star Wars film to be rated PG-13. And with good reason. Let me start by saying that I love all of the Star Wars films and own all of them. I find them all to be immensley entertaining, but I must admit that I was surprised by the dark tone in this one. None of the violence surpasses Episode 2, except in the end where Anakin is burned horribly (you see him screaming as his flesh peels off). There is no sex, just one mention of a secret pregnancy. There also isn't any language. But the film is dark, and it's disturbing to see the youngster that was so generous and kind in Episode 1 turn evil and kill his friends (he even kills Jedi children offscreen). You watch good guy after good guy die, and wonder why none of the bad guys could have perished instead. Honestly, only one villain loses in this film. Otherwise, all of the good guys are killed and The Republic is overthrown. So, I'll leave it up to you on this one. Besides for the burning sequence in the end, the violence isn't worse than the other ones, there is just a heavier dose of it. The movie good, but the premise is dark; too dark for younger kids who can watch the others.

    5 ENORMOUS STARZ!!!

This movie is SO awesome, it explains SO much!!! The whole "commercialism" thing on here is wrong! It's the TOYS that are commercial not the MOVIES. Anyway, I'd say kids 0-7 shouldn't see the movie. 8-10 will be ok, but might be slightly disturbed, but it'll quickly pass. 12+ is OKAY. This is a BIG must have for everyone thats seen the other movies!

  22. I rate this title iffy for age 2 and give it 2.0

    Overall - Moderate content

Violence: Moderate - Themes of mercilessness (including the bloodless decapitation of human-like creatures) various deaths including the implied killing of a group of young children (nothing is shown on-screen however). Various explosive battle scenes are portrayed in moderate detail; including two scenes where characters are engulfed by fire (this is fatal for only one of the characters). One of the main characters is near-fatally choked by another character. Sex/Nudity: Mild - A potentially distressing birth is depicted in minor detail, but is still likely to raise questions about the nature of childbirth from younger children. The woman in question dies afterwards. Horror: Moderate - Various potentially distressing death scenes including a character screaming in pain after being badly burnt by lava (he survives), a character expressing extreme discomfort over a painful operation and the implied murder of a number of young children. Childbirth is depicted as being highly distressing to the character concerned who dies shortly after giving birth. Another character screams in pain as he is engulfed by fire and dies. All of these scenes are handled with a moderately intensity and young/sensitive children are most likely to be distressed by some of the themes and content. Language: None. Drugs/Alcohol: None. Overall: Moderate themes. There are some potentially distressing issues covered here (e.g. mercilessness and murder) which young/sensitive children are highly likely to be very scared of or, at the very least, confused about. Despite mostly being within the context of fantasy these scenes are fairly intense and are likely to seem pretty real for some children. It is highly recommended that parents watch this film first before deciding if it is suitable for their children.

    I think the originals better

This is by far the most violent. This was geared to the teens who need to see violence and gore. I am a humongas geek for star wars but I feel very sad that George Lucas felt he needed to to add the gore. Just tell you're kids that Star Wars ended with episode VI.
