    My concerns are:
    • Inappropriate sexual content
    • Inappropriate language

    Good for 13 and up

Considering how awful the eating habits are of so many Americans, I think the iffy material is worth putting up with because of the educational value of the rest of the movie. Best viewed with your child so you can discuss the movie and get the most out of it.

  2. I rate this title off for age 12 and give it 3.0
    My concerns are:
    • Excessive violence
    • Excessive consumerism
    • Drinking, smoking, or drug use
    • Negative role models

    • My highlights are:
    • Positive messages

When I mean "bad role models" I mean the McDonalds corporation itself not anyone else! Other wise, if you're not so worried about consumerism, all you need to worry about is the medical procedure.

    Great Film!

Despite the disturbing scenes of operational procedures, language, sexual references (such as the impotence from Spurlock's 1-month McDiet and the magazine clips of models in revealing attire concealing an overweight teen one by one as she laments about how her weight reflected her self esteem, eg, that it makes her feel cruddy), and of course, the commercialism - and loads of it, this film is excellent for high schools who don't mind the iffy bits!

    More Graphic than I thought...

I was shocked when they actually showed Morgan's rectal exam on the screen. Very little was covered by a thin black line, and the scene seemed to be included only for shock value. The language was much stronger than expected and even inlcuded one use of the F word. They also talk very graphically about the effect of having sex, and the word penis is used several times in reference to his sex life. However, not quite content with merely talking about his genitals, at the end of the movie, Morgan wears a speedo so tight in the front, you can actually see the defined shape of his penis. Aside from some iffy moments, however the film does get the message across.

the earlier kids learn about nutrition the healthier they'll be.

Every afternoon kids are bombarded with perfectly happy, clean, ads for fast food and candy along with their cartoons. And it's slowly killing them. Fast food nation is not always pleasant to watch. Some of the effects of eating fast food are quite gross. But the grossness is not gratuitous--it serves an important social message that our corporate culture has been trying to sweep under the mat for too long. Only the prudest parent would be offended by the brief sexual references, which basically involve the protagonist's girlfriend briefly describing (in a normal and not overly graphic manner) how his poor health has impacted their sex life.

    Disgustingly Fun!

This is a VERY educational movie, which may make people think it is boring, but it is very interesting and is hilarious! So it is a comeducational movie! There is some strong language, 1 F-Words, a couple of S-Words, and a few other minor words. There is one VERY disturbing graphic medical operation (shows stomach actually being cut open with knife, camera shoved in, and parts inside the body pulling parts away!) There is one reference to the positioning of a couple having sex, and there is a scene where a man wears nothing but a pair of underwear and then his penis is circled with a white circle and is talked about on screen as a maiin topic. A man is seen throwing up and then the camera zooms in on the vomit. I say PG material, but almost PG-13 material, BORDERLINE!

    Must Watch with Your Kids

I actually watched this with my almost-six year old. I didn't expect her to like it, but she was really engaged. We paused the movie constantly to explain things (like even the word obesity) and I was shocked she knew who Wendy was (we don't have a Wendy's here but turns out that finger press has made an impression). As a family that does NOT eat at McDonalds, it reinforced my decision to keep her away from the crap (we do indulge occasionaly at BKing but it's rare). She was very interested in how sick it made his body and she did NOT see the surgery scene (frankly, neither did I - fast forward please). We have talked about it a lot since watching the movie. If you can take the time, this is a great movie for discussion and reflection. I plan to watch it again with her in about a year.

    It's all about Nutrition, stupid!

I made my 11 year old neice watch this, even though I knew it would be a stretch for her. I wanted to scare her a bit more than anything. Americans have to wake up and get an education about the nutritional requirements of the human body. (God forgot to leave a User's Manual!) Max tries not to be too terribly slanted in his reporting, but it isn't hard to get the point that he is trying to make. You can't create a healthy body by eating sugar, flour, meat from large corporations who are more interested in making money than making you healthy. If you think your kids eat a lot of crap and you can't seem to figure out how to get the message across, start with this movie, then start slowing switching to your whole family to a vegan/raw diet. Do yourself and the rest of the world a favor.

    As if we didn't know

Sure- the fast food industry is out to make a buck, and I was never fooled that what they sold was 'health food', but I was appalled at the brand loyalty marketing to my kids. We are out of the drive through and back into the peanutbutter and jelly craze at this house! Great discussion for older kids!!! Watch it with them, and get active in your kitchen and community.

    fine for children 6+

Perfectly fine movie not a great award winning movie but as for all the bad comments it doesnt't deserve them. It teaches a lesson. As for the surgery scene I find public toilets more disturbing. I've been sick for several and had one suregery and several medical tests including a colonoscopy which I ot pictures of and was more graphic than the surgery scene. Also the rectal exam is covered well enough. Language for me was not a problem I hear more language at school everyday than in this movie.

    Super Size Me

This movie was a very good movie indeed. There are some parts that can be a little over the top, including the cuss words and his sexual organ not going well after eating Mickey-Ds. There also is some violence about the surgery. The surgery might be graphical, but not scary.

this is a movie worth seein and just may save your life though there is some unnecessary stuff in it me and my dad both think that at a certian grade they should show this video to kids in school but clean out certian scenes

Anyone and everyone 12+ should see this

Is McDonald's really bad for you? This question is answered when you see this movie. It's good but there is one use of f--- you and some s-words. Also there's an operation and some sexual talk (the guy not getting a sex drive after eating McFood). This movie is funny and good. So the moral is: Don't supersize yourself or you'll face the consequences.

Big Issues, but still a great movie

I know that is this a movie for everyone to enjoy, but do beware that this film has the f-word in it. There are also disgusting surgery scenes that may be unsettling.

    DON'T supersize me!!

I think it was really ok for kids my age. After all, if you don't know what the sexual references are about it goes over your head and if you do no harm is done. Admittedly some parts are disgusting and there are a few curse words, but I think in general it's ok. It's a fantastic movie in all. I loved it except for the fact that it was a bit slow-moving at times, but it was really good. I didn't eat McDonald's anyway, but I certainly won't in the future. I found just one problem in the logic of this movie - when Morgan is showing pictures of famous people to the first graders and they don't know who Jesus is, I wouldn't have recognized him either because I'm Jewish and I've only been inside a church once. See this movie with your kid who's 9 or 10 and up!

Do not let your kids see it!!!!!!!! it was rated PG-13 for a good reason. you might want a pillow to cover your eyes with!!!!! But, it shows you what to eat and what you might want to cut down on.
