Okay, some of the stuff may not be totally appropriate, but it isn't a bad movie, especially for PG13. I've probably seen it about 3 or 4 times, and the laughs never get old. I'd recommend it for any family with tween girls!!
the bad stuff: sexy stuff and references, kissing, mean attitude, language, consumerism
the good stuff: positive role models,
the movie: it was great, i rented it twice on my ipad. Off for ages 9 and under, iffy for ages 10 and 11, on for ages 12 and up.
Great Movie one of my favs some sexual content but not too bad. Lanuage isn't to bad lots of brand names like prada channel and gucci. The "keppas" are very bad role models ( mainly their leader Rachel witchburn) but the main message is to be yourself and embrace the geek in all of us.
I really liked this movie. Though it did have some bad role models like the bullies everything was great. It sent a great message that you should always stand up for your friends and you don't have to let others decide what you do. There are a few laughs but more of a chick flicks and i love chick flicks so YEAH! Overall i think the movie was great
OMG! I ah-dored Sydney White! I enjoyed the whole movie, now I would like to see a sequal! Nothing really concered me in this movie, I would reccomend it to anyone.
I love Amanda Bynes, and I love this movie! It is awesome! And FYI, common sense media, "loser" is not a cuss word. There is really nothing wrong with this movie! Go see it! You won't regret it!
This is a pretty funny movie I've watched a couple of times, and loved every minute. I especially love Amanda Bynes in this movie . . . As a person, she's down to earth, and looks like a real person for goodness sakes, and she's very much the same in the movie. The guys of the Vortex are hilarious too, and is a great family movie to watch with older kids, tweens, and teens!
I think the people who were in the theater with me were probley annoyed because i was laughing so hard! There was a little bit of sex talk but they made it pretty funny. It's really just anything a kid can see on TV. It was a really good movie but I wouldn't let anyone under 10 see it.
I went to see Sydney White with my 6 friends opening night, and it totally sucked. I mean, there were some good parts mixed in, but it's just way too similar to Snow White. I know it's meant to be a teenage version of the classic, but this movie was more unrealistic than the Disney movie. I don't know if it was just the experience overall, or the movie itself, but I honestly would not see this film again. As far as language and sexual stuff, I'd say 13+ or know your kid. There's just a tad bit of cursing...just normal things you'd hear at home or school. I will admit that it was somewhat funny, but again, it was very unrealistic.
Grade: C-
when i first heard of this movie i was expecting another disney fairytale- - - size zero waists, girls sitting around waiting for a man to sweep them of their feet- - - even if it was supposed to be a spin. but i was wrong.
it starts off good enough with sydney growing up w/ her dad and being raised by construction workers. then she heads off to college w/ big hopes of joining her mothers sorority. she promptly meets a friend, another kappa phi nu legacy, and they get ready for the rush party together. sydney has only brought some clothes in a duffel bag and her treasured comic books, so she borrows a dress from 'dinky' her new friend. at the party, the sorority president, rachel witchburn, tries to throw her out, but after learning she is a legacie and must be excepted into the pledge group, makes it as hard as possible for her to get in. then, on initiation night, she choose every1 but sydney, & claims that she broke kappa phi nu laws. sydney leaves, after taking off her dress-to reveal a slip- and throwing it at rachel. sydeny moves in w/ 7 geeks to try and tries to stop the old shack they live in from being torn down and having sydney run for president. the only thing i really didnt like was the sterio type against blondes. SICK OF IT in the movie industry!!!!! but the main message of this movie is : find the geek in all of us
