This movie is not only way out of line for kids, but the scene when Gary projectile vomits is more than repulsive. You better watch the whole movie on an empty stomach just because of that moment!
I am an extremely liberal minded person and I would in absolutely NO WAY endorse this movie for children. The satirical humor is too easily misunderstood and the outright ruthless gay bashing is offensive. Many parents may think this is a harmless 'puppet' movie, but they would be so wrong. I found not one thing funny about this movie and really it is not b/c I didn't "Get it". In fact, I totally "Got It," I just can't fathom why anyone from conservative to the most liberal of people would think there was anything worth seeing here. I would say if anything showing it to a child who has no understanding or irony and satire would take this the entirely wrong way and it would be COMPLETELY inappropriate. One of the worst movies I have ever seen.
This is a hilarious film. There is comedy galore in this animated laugh-athon. PARENTS: This may be a puppet feature, but it is absolutely not a kids film. The raunchiness level reaches an all-time high with explicit puppet sex (if I may be frank, they mostly just bang the dolls together in sexual positions, but it still is extremely raunchy) and much more, inlcuding some of the most creatively offensive language in existance. Yes, this is a funny movie - FOR GROWN UPS! 17+
THIS MOVIE IS VERY FUNNY. There is tons of bad words and there is one graphic graphic sex seen with tons of sound affects. Also there is tons of action with much blood but it's cartoonish. If you are 14 and up you should see it. NO ONE YOUNGER.
It's more raunchy than south park, but I and a lot of people I know saw it at 12(when the movie first came out). There is a very graphic puppet sex scene(played more for comedy than anything), there is also violence/gore and profanity(again all involving puppets). It's a decent film, fairly funny, though not as good as South Park in my opinion.
First off, the only reason I ticked violence is because there is excessive violence towards civilians, who are constantly put in danger because of Team America's ridiculous shenanigans.
The movie itself is a great parody of America's role in the world and it's amazing how well Matt and Trey can make so many real jokes about American lifestyles in such a short amount of time.
This is a great movie. Gays and Lesbians are made fun of, Michael Moore is made fun of, EVERY SINGLE FREAKIN' THING IS MADE FUN OF! In an age of PC being shoved into your face, this stands out.
The movie is hilariously a satire of everything. Targeting the war on terror, conservatives, liberals, movie stars, AIDS, Michael Moore...the list goes on. Even in it's crude style it's just laugh-out-land funny. Some parts, like the sexual scenes and the intense vomiting scene, pass the line into tasteless, past funny. And it does seem to be a bit homophobic in some spots. The overly crude parts, like the afore mentioned sexual scenes, make it too much for those under 16 or 17.
Very funny, but not for kids (or anyone else, really...)
While I have to admit that I laughed my way through this movie, it is not for kids, or even people my age (I'm 15). The movie has a good moral, but the moral gets lost amid all the raw language. MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY.
c'mon guys, dont try to act all grown up by calling this a "political humor
ok the movie is sick. a puppet sex scene is sickening, the violence is kinda funny, but sickening. the language is horrible. im getting tired of lil' teens of my generation trying to act grown up by saying "this is an awesome political movie if ur smart enough". grown-ups who r smart enough to know politics know that this movie is just another sick teen-targeted movie.
Not as bad as this website says it is. All violence and sex is clearly puppets. If real people it would have been bad but you can clearly see its puppets. Movies rated 14 on here are worse.
