Too many boys. Sexist
Boy think girls need protection.
The first half was mr.toad, it was entertaining! Lots of adventure! The second was disgusting. Ichabod treats the woman like property. She is drawn with ridiculously unrealistic proportions. So many problematic themes that I had to explain to my 9y/o girl and 11y/o boy before we turned it off. My daughter insisted we write this review. She was not impressed

A Spooky Classic
I grew up watching Ichabod (we never watched the Adventures of Mr. Toad) and watching it just makes me feel like Halloween.
I love the songs, the story, and the animation. One of my kiddos is pretty sensitive, and I don’t plan on watching with him until he’s eight or nine. The way that the Headless Horseman pursued Ichabod through the woods would give him nightmares. His younger sister would not find it too scary. This is definitely a ‘you know your kids best’ watch.

Outdated and questionable at best.
I have often come to common sense for reviews and not until now have I felt the need to create a review. This movie made me do it. The first half is a fairly convoluted version of Wind in the Willows. However, because of the era it was made, the material is not appropriate for kids really. Lots of smoking and tons of alcohol consumption, including it being stated that an entire room of characters were passed out drunk. The end is a violent, although non bloody, chase scene.
The second tale is sexist through and through. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this disappointed.
I cannot believe the reviewer gave it 5 stars. I gave it 2, and that’s only because the animation is good.

NOT HALLOWEENY
I am 9 and my mom picked this and I do not like it because it was not halloweeny so if you want to watch a halloween movie DO NOT WATCH THIS. if you want to get a little tiny bit scared in the last 5 mins this is good for you.

Classic Disney, but not a Halloween treat
I love old Disney to death, but it's a mistake to categorize this as a 'Halloween movie' - it isn't. All that's applicable to Halloween is the last 5 minutes or so once Ichabod is riding through the woods, has a bunch of zany horse chase maneuvers to escape the headless horseman (who apparently can't hit anything), and then gets a Jack-o-lantern tossed at him. That's it. In front of that is some 50 (!) minutes of completely non-Halloween related material... good old Disney stuff, but not a Halloween movie at all.

Watch It Every Year
For some much younger viewers it might seem a little too violent, though it's all very cartoonish. However, since it's Halloween fair, I'd say use your judgment for what your child can tolerate. Liked the message about friendship, and about being careful in making life decisions (mainly in the Mr. Toad movie). This a wonderful classic combo to start your kid out with when he/she wants something a little scary.

These are two classics which are sadly not seen enough these days! I owned this movie when I was younger and we lost it when we moved across the country, but I still remember how much I loved this movie! Great for halloween and any other time of the year.
