Ichabod and Mr. Toad are great characters and deserve to be the best of friends next time Disney brings them both back!
I love this movie! But the first time I saw this movie, only ten minutes of Mr. Toad’s part, I didn’t realize who Ichabod was and I thought they were best friends going on adventures together, but no. I have a special tradition to watch the movie on one day of each month that’s not the 31st of October. Mr. Toad is an amazing character but I don’t like the fact that he stole a motorcar on purpose and didn’t even know who it belonged to. I still liked the fact that he redeemed at the very end, I think that Mole, Water Rat, Angus MacBadger, and Cyril Proudbottom are very good characters, even though there aren’t any women in The Wind In The Willows section that’s narrated by Basil Rathbone. The second part is my favorite, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow narrated by Bing Crosby introduces us Ichabod Crane, a gangly schoolmaster that’s my favorite character aside from Toad that most people complain about so much from this section because even though he’s greedy because he wanted Katrina for beauty and money, he’s still a very kind and gentle man, even though most people thought he died at the end of his section but I believe he’s still alive. Katrina is underrated and hardly speaks and Brom Bones I would kick in the shin because on how mean he was to Ichabod. The Headless Horseman scene might scare little kids. I think people over 9 should watch it because they could understand the plots of both Toad and Ichabod. I cannot wait to watch it again on the ninth day in all 12 months again in 2023! and of course, the 9th day of each month no questions asked. Because the whole reason I don’t watch this every Halloween is because Ichabod (my favorite character that’s kinda an idiot like most people say not to offend anyone) has a name starting with the letter I, the ninth letter of the alphabet. Overall I love this movie and my tradition! Anyway, it’s an amazing way to wrap up the 1940s decade and the package films before Cinderella in 1950 (which is also a great movie) A+ for The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad!

Disney has done it again
Parents need to know that this movie has two segments. Mr. Toad is the first segment which takes place in London. All kids could see this 5+, so you could just watch this part of the movie. The second segment is about love and fighting over someone, so your kids should see this when they are older. One thing to know is that this Ichabod segment is 100% narrated. This segment though has three songs sung by Bing Crosby who also narrates it, so it might make the movie more interesting. Now, after the feast at a barn, Ichabod goes into a woods. SPOILER ALERT: Ichabod hears creepy sounds saying "Headless Horseman" which he then encounters. Unfortunately, Ichabod dies and it is rumored he is still alive, but you are not sure. Therefore, you can watch the segment or all of the movie, either way watch this movie in the morning and not at night.

Grossly, creepy, and bizarre!
Usually I try to keep a wide cinematic mind open, but in 2009 when I saw this garbage in theaters, I was haunted. There is a scene in this “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad” featuring men in Hun costumes holding a Jack-O-Lantern that literally gave me nightmares. The fact I even had to write that description shows how utterly confusing this movie is. The dubbing is horrible, I didn't realize it was an Mongolian movie as a kid and I thought I was going crazy because I noticed the words didn't sync up to their lips. Please only see the 1998 classic version, the ONLY version in my book.

CREEPY, SCARY But Good!
Mr Toad and his antics are always funny, as are all of the gang from the Wind in the Willows.
However, the second story, is based on Washington Irving's classic American tale, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," a story known for being downright terrifying. It is for this particular reason, that I warn parents of very sensitive children to maybe wait until their child is older. Some may disagree with me, but that cartoon scared the bejesus out of me when I was little!
Basically, Ichabod Crane is the new schoolmaster at a town in New England, he is admired by everyone, but gets picked on by the local town bully Bown Bones, or something. They both compete for the love and attention of Katrina, a beautiful and rich young woman, and when it appears that her and Ichabod are growing ever closer, Bown tells him the story of the legend of the Headless Horseman, making Ichabod terrified of his journey back home, (which just happens to be through the woods! Great huh?!)
Seriously though, it's good. Cartoonish, mild, slapstick violence.
But it is WAY past the usual Disney standard, FAR from the cutsie-kidsie pie stuff, and I mean the kind of thing you see in the greatest of horror movies, in fact, they may as well be doing a reactment of Tam O Shanter, the Scottish tale, because it's really that frightening! (I should know, I come from Scotland, :) ) and in a way, you could almost belive it is, because of a very terrified man on a jumpy horse, riding through the woods at a very late hour, with witchcraft and devil's work on his mind.
If you're an 8-17 year old who loves Disney cartoons or any other cartoon and at the same time, are looking for a good scare, then this is the movie for you!

It's ok.
This movie is kind of boring. I would say it's for kids 7 and up. Just because of the headless person.

Ichabod and Mr. Toad are amazing at recreating classic novels
This is the best way to show two awesome classics! There are some action scenes as cops chase Mr. Toad and little kids will find the Legend of Sleepy Hollow very scary (I like it, though) and many men fall deeply in love with Katrina, but it's a great classic people will love. It's great.

Deserves to be held in much higher regard than it is.
