Very violent
I don’t know why common sense media says this movie is 12+!!!! This movie was very violent. After the 30 minutes I stopped watching the movie because of the violence. At the beginning it shows very bloody flashback scenes of his wife’s murder. Unless you like lots of blood, don’t watch this movie.

A very well-acted and well-written thriller.
I have seen a few thrillers, and that is not the movie genre that I watch the most. But this is one of the better ones that was released. The characters are extremely memorable, and there’s enough quotable lines that make the movie. The storyline is interesting enough to where this is a movie than I can enjoy. To add to that, there aren’t any unbearably slow spots in the movie either.
The basic storyline is about a surgeon named Richard Kimble (played by Harrison Ford). His wife is murdered by who he claims is a one-armed man. However, everyone else believes that Kimble did it, so he is about to be punished by being sentenced to lethal injection. But all of the sudden, when he gets on the prison bus, one of the passengers kills the bus driver. This causes the bus to crash! Then, Kimble escapes and is on the run! He tries everything he can to stay out of the radar. But this is all stopped when a no-nonsense US Marshal named Samuel Gerard (played by Tommy Lee Jones) finds out all about this. This guy will not stop until he finds Kimble and catches him. He doesn’t even care if he’s innocent!
Harrison Ford plays a good role in this movie.
He plays a character that is low-energy but very traumatized by his wife’s death. And he is willing to get revenge. But he also does anything he can to prove that he’s innocent.
Tommy Lee Jones plays the most legendary role in the entire thing. This is in fact his best role he ever played. His character doesn’t take any complaints from anyone. He has no sympathy, and is often sarcastic. But a lot of his sarcastic one-liners are what makes this movie entertaining! And as I’ve said before, he refuses to stop until he achieves his goal. This movie even has a solid supporting cast, including the secondary police chief (played by Joe Pantoliano, who also plays Cypher in The Matrix).
Now, the parents guide starts:
Violence: This movie is not overly violent. There are some briefly disturbing flashbacks of Kimble’s wife’s murder, but they aren’t too graphic. A couple of characters are shot, but no blood is shown. The bus crash scene is
pretty suspenseful. And towards the end, there is an intense fight between Kimble and the murderer of his wife. This movie is more suspenseful than violent. For example, there are plenty of scenes where Kimble just tries to get away from the police.
Sex: None.
Language: Very brief but there are words like the “s” word and “S.O.B.”
Substance Abuse: None, except there is a subplot at the end about inventing a new illegal drug.
Anyways, I recommend this movie to people who are fans of thrillers. If people like Harrison Ford or Tommy Lee Jones, they will probably enjoy this movie. However, I will admit it did take me the second time I watched it to fully appreciate it though.

Good Movie
I really enjoyed this film when I watched it. It's a good suspense movie and I think it is a good movie for families sometimes. but there are some violent scenes so I think kids 10 and up should be able to see this film.

AMAZING!!!!!!!
The Fugitive is good movie with violence and language. At the beginning, their is a violent murder scene with not much blood but violent. Language includes one (although hardly noticeable) use of f--k, several uses of "damn" and "s--t". Amazingly acted action/thriller movie.

Very entertaining action in Harrison Ford's violent thriller.
The Fugitive is a 1993 action movie directed by Andrew Davis and starring Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones, Julianne Moore, Andreas Katsulas, Joe Pantoliano, and Jeroen Krabbe.
Language(3/5): “S**t”, “hell”, “damn”, “J*s*s”, “son of a b**ch”, and “a**” are used throughout.
Sex(1/5): Some intimate references. Mildly revealing clothing that isn’t sexual.
Drinking, Drugs, And Smoking(1/5): Cigar smoking from Marshal.
Violence(4/5): Kimble's wife is murdered, with some blood shown in her struggle, with Kimble stepping into fight him but is apprehended in a flashback. Kimble has a nightmare about his wife. Police photographs show her dead body. A breakout on a prison bus ensues, with a prisoner who pretends to choke stabbing a guard and getting shot, the bus falling off a cliff, and onto train tracks where a train is coming. Kimble helps a bleeding survivor, and the train derails after colliding with the bus, exploding the surroundings around him. He treats his gory injuries and is chased down by the police in a car, escaping into the sewers and being shot at, he jumps into a dam. A man is whacked in the face several times. A graphic injury is shown in a hospital, where Kimble helps. Kimble gets into a fight with a man on a train, a passenger is shot with minimal blood, and there is graphic fist-fighting. A criminal suspect is chased down, and he takes a hostage while about to be shot at. The twist villain gets into a graphic fistfight with Kimble at the end, with lots of bloody injuries and hitting with blunt objects.
Positive Messages(2/5): Anti-murder message and bravery, sympathy, and kindness.
Positive Role Models And Representations(3/5): Kimble, despite being in a world of bad, is kind and helps when he can despite being a fugitive. The police officer Samuel also helps to rectify evil at end.
Highlight: Train crash
Lowlight: N/A
Quality(opinionated): A very engaging story and endlessly entertaining action set-pieces.
(My rating)
PG-13
For intense sequences of violent action throughout including some bloody images, and some language.

Intense, action-packed adventure movie with great acting, will certainly be entertaining for teens and adults.
This action-packed masterpiece, is a must-see. I just watched this movie for the first time and it absolutely stunned me. Ever since this movie came out in 1993 it has become a classic, it was a box-office hit, it was nominated for 7 Oscars including best picture, which it deserved to be nominated for all of those Oscars, and Tommy Lee Jones won best supporting actor for his role in this movie, and he definitely deserved that Oscar. But, in the end this movie is still amazing, highly recommend it. 10/10
