It's been a while since I've seen this, but from what I remember, I LOVED IT. A great story, spectacular visuals, outstanding animation, and Johnny Deep has an amazing voice acting skill. Tim Burton is amazing when it comes to stop motion. Wish more could do it like him (I'm looking at you, Seth Green.) A

This is my favorite movie of all time, next to Disney's Tarzan. Corpse Bride is the tale of a boy named Victor and a girl named Victoria, who are in an arranged marriage organized by their respective sets of parents (both of whom are only marrying off their children in the hopes of inheriting wealth and other fortune from the other family). Victor and Victoria are at first not happy about their set marriage, but they soon start warming up to each other through little sweet moments such as exchanging flowers and playing the piano together. During the wedding rehersal, Victor screws up his vows so many times that the pastor angrily sends him out of the chapel to go practice. Victor practices his vows in the forest, and everything goes smoothly as he's practicing...up until he slips Victoria's ring on a fingerlike "branch" in the ground that happens to be the finger of dead Emily, aka the Corpse Bride! By doing this (saying vows and giving ring), Emily is now married to Victor, and she awakens (through a slow, creepy, zombielike scene where she claws her way out of the ground). She chases Victor, kisses him, and he faints. When Victor wakes up, he finds himself in the Underworld with a bunch of skeletons and corpses that live there, and the adventure just escalates from there... Now, it seems a bit outrageous, but it's really just a spooky little Halloween film; a love story with Tim Burton's signature macabre touch. The stop-motion animation is wonderful, the voice-acting is fantastic, and the songs (did I mention that it's a bit of a musical?) are awesome and catchy. Some scenes are a bit frightening, but it's all just really cartoon violence with a bit of a darker feel. Morals are okay- though the parents seem to only care about their image and themselves most of the time, little moments show that they care for their children. Or, at least Victor's parents seem to, haha. There's also a bad guy, but his motives are easy to see and it's very obvious that he's not a role model, as you'll find out in the movie. Long review, I know, but read some of the other reviews on here, preview the movie, and make your final judgement. The Corpse Bride is a wonderful film for Halloween.

I really liked it. It had awsome animation. Also a great story and good characters. Two thumbs up!

it was entertaining for a cartoon and i really loved it

Emily is actually very lovely,and a wonderful role model. (Spoiler) Some scenes in which a character dies of smoking. Barkiss drinks poison that Victor was to drink , so he can marry Emily. Alfred the skeleton quotes the famous line "Frankly my dear I don't give a"

Its pretty scary, I once watched it when a friend was over, and when Emily's hand reached out from the ground and grabbed him, we jumped back ten feet from the tv. But it's funny too, even though their are dead people with organs even hanging out (do NOT eat when watching it I warn you) they're all friendly. Its the LIVING that are depressing, the dead are all happy and colorful. The headless waiter freaks me out though, I want to knock him off of the counter. Emily is a pretty bubbly person for being dead and dumbed, always giggling and forgiving Victor for running off like a baby. Victor (Johnny Depp) is a wimp, kinda spineless, so you can guess his reaction when he saw Emily. You can't really understand all of what Victor is saying, but I'm sure its very inlightning. Victoria's parents freak me out more than the dead people do... (shivers) the lady is just... very strangely shaped, the dad, who I like more, looks like a frog, but he's funnyer. I'd suggest ages ten and up, also Victors other bride to be Victoria ends up being paired with a murderor, and he threatens to kill her (for the money of course!) but Victor puts a stop to it, and the killer ends up stabbing Emily (it obviously doesn't affect her) - he is the one that killed Emily by the way. And he ends up dying (un gory-ish, and then he ends up being shoved into a room by the dead people that want to beat him up) Emily ends up understanding Victor loves Victoria, and allows it to happen, besides the only way her and Victor could wed was if he died, which Emily didn't want that to happen, and I think she goes to Heaven. Its really good.

This is a great movie for all ages. It is about this deceased girl named Emily who falls in love with a living man [forgot his name, srry]. It's very sweet, all of it. I love this movie.
