I am going to have to admit that I love this movie. I thought it had great animation, and some fight scenes that got pretty darn intense. Of course, we all have to realize that overall, this really isn't a serious movie. In fact, it's really kind of goofy. But that's a lot of why I liked it so much. I thought it was a perfect mix of action, intensity, and and complete wackiness.
We try to be as careful as we can when taking our kids to the thearers and decided to give this one a try. Not bad compared to the other turtle movies. Actually alot more kid friendly. (My 4 year old didn't even cover his eyes.) It was nice to not have the language problem. Some questionable areas for me....2 unmarried people living together and the etire of the females. In the end..good moral to the story. Worth seeing if your kids are true turtle fans.
I would have preferred that he see something else but he was excited about the movie since he plays with Ninja Turtle toys/figurines. It was a very dark cartoon, with more violence than ideal. There was with lots of battles between the stone soldiers and monsters, and then fighting amonst the TMNT and others. He loved it, I tolerated it, but he chose this movie over The Robinsons as his top pick.
This movie is fine for kids - nothing bad to speak of, but it's just SLOW! Usually these kid movies at least have some humor for the parents... I think I chuckled once. By far not the best movie out there.
I never seen the old cartoons from the 80's and 90's, but I have seen the old movie, and it was kinda dumb. But this movie is awesome! My favorite turtles are Michaelangelo and Leonardo! Parents, if you grew up watching the old TMNT cartoons, you probably would like this movie, but your kids will like it more. Just be aware of the violence, even though there's no blood or anything like that. Overall, this is the best TMNT movie so far!
It was my son's seventh birthday and he wanted to go see this one. So I went, remembering how awful it was to sit through Ninja Tutles III. I was so pleasantly suprised! The animation is wonderful, and I actually enjoyed it. There are a couple of questionable points, though...
1. The girls are always scantly clad and have about a 10 inch waist.
2. One of the stone monsters is very scary and cat-like. There is a scene that he/it is trying to scratch it's way through the door to get to Casey and Leonardo.
Otherwise great for the 5 and up set. Most of the people in the audience were above 15...interesting.
TMNT gave me and my kids exactly what we expected: Great animation. Some very cool action sequences. The skateboard in the sewer is a great scene! A couple scenes that had their eyes wide with a little worry. The monsters are monsters, but nothing that they hadn't seen before. The story is a little slow at times, but the original movie had the same problem. By the end I was pretty happy with it. Best of all, all five kids sitting in the theatre with me felt the same way.
For fans of those Ninja Turtles, this is a film that they've been waiting for. BUT, it does feel a bit washed out, and watered down with too much of the "Villain of the Hour" kind of thing. There's one uninteresting fight after another, and the fact that there are so many background characters trying to steal the spotlight, some kids may just lose interest altogether. Overall, it's another one I predict will get... a thumbs down.
i was disappointed that this movie was all computer animated and not having real actors in it like the first movies. it was a good movie. there is mild violence, but it's the turtles, what can you expect? michaelangelo is HILARIOUS! dude, i loved him the best. i say it's game on for anyone. i thought it was a good movie though.
