A good movie for people who can handle R rated movies.
This movie was very good, that is if you like blood, gore and a little bit of sex. If you have a choice whether to watch it or not, you should go unless you don't apply to the info above. If you don't apply, i would not recommend this movie to you.
This movie is good for older teens interested in greek history but many negative messages for younger viewers. There is some drinking of wine, much graphic violence, as well as a little nudity and sex scenes.
This is a very educational story about the Iliad. Besides the nudity, the violence is very intense. This movie is a much easier way to understand the Iliad, and it's very entertaining
Very violent lots of blood and death. Achilles is not a good role model whatsoever. There is a very violent, bloody and scarring scene were Achilles drags a dead body behind his chariot
This was the first 15 movie i saw (thats whats its rated in the UK). I was about 10 or 11 at the time I thought it was quite violent. However now I watch it very easily. There are a couple of bloody scenes but they are done in a cool stylish manner so its watered down. There are also sexual refrences but no actual nudity (as far as I remember). Overall any mature 13 year old will be able to handle this movie unless you really dont like blood. 300 is far more violent and sexual and I can deal with that. a great movie well worth a watch.
Great movie with engaging plot. Parents need to know that while there is plenty of violence, most of it happens very quickly in battle sequences. A main character does die and can upset some viewers. There is some sex and nudity as well. Nothing too bad, but we see many backsides and implied nudity. A main character steals a mans wife. There are hints at rape but nothing is show. A man undresses in front of a woman but it's not sexual. We see part of his butt for a split second. A woman drops her top in front of a man. Nothing is shown but it is a sexual invite. Sex is then implied. After , we see the man and woman talking. They are both naked and we see his bare chest and her bare butt for a few seconds. A captive woman is tied to a pole for a man for his 'amusement'. He shows no real sexual interest in her and later unties her. (he also undresses in front of her as mentioned above-non sexual) Later in the movie the same woman is rescued by the main character and sex is implied. (Very light thrusting , barley noticeable, and the mans butt is visible momentarily). There is one or two mild words used - b-tch and wh-re. Great movie to get your child interested in the illiad. You can always skip/cover any intense scenes for younger viewers. My only complaint (-1 star) was I felt the acting was a little off on Brad Pitt's side at moments. Other than that, great movie!
As an answer to the last review question the answer is yes! this movie does have some sex scenes in it!!! But I love the movie! very bloody! If you like war movies you'll like this one!
You need to know that "Troy" was part of a worldwide hype involving history movies. Unlike the masterpiece "Gladiator", this one is not arty. It has a good optical look, yes, but does not have the same incredible story, characters and acting skills (even though Brad Pitt is undeniably a good actor - but this movie does not give him a chance).
"Troy" is not a movie you have to see.
The theatrical cut really is on the PG-13 end of an R rating. Actually this could have been rated PG-13.
There are some bloody fight scenes but not too bloody for what you see in a PG-13 movie set in the middle ages.
There is nudity but no breasts or genitalia is shown in the whole movie.
This version is suitable for children 12 and up.
The director's cut however is more bloody and has breasts shown. However, i haven't seen this version and i can't rate it but actually i think it is also suitable for children 12 and up.
But parents should be warned that there are two different versions.
Troy really didn't get the credit it deserved. It was a great movie, definitely worth watching. A few bloody scenes (most memorably Hector vs. Achilles) and a couple sensual scenes, nothing too bad though. Tweens and up!
I do not think this is appropriote for any kids under 15
It's ALL BECAUSE OF THE SEX.
The violence isn't anything the average kid hasn't seen before but I don't recommend showing it to a 10 year old. It was an EXCELLENT movie, but I think that it is not for people whom are under 15. unless you are mature.
this movie was quite violent but well put togehter i especially like the story between paris and helen i think orlando bloom played his part well and so did Brad Pitt.
i would definatley see this film again
Orlando and Brad looked sooo hot in skirts buffnessssss.
overall it was good
i recommend it to people who like these actors and war movies
I watched this movie in the 6th grade and i thought that it was a great action packed movie with lots of battle scenes. I would recommend this movie especially if you liked the lord of the rings.
