Perfect for kids older 12, but not for tweens and some teens
The things you need to know is the fact that every Tyler Perry movie is Christian and all have positive themes. With that said, your kids must be mature enough to handle this. While I realize some parents wont let their kids see this because of the prostitution, which makes sense at a certain age, i think that I could watch this at 13. I have seen other Tyler Perry Movies. It depends on YOUR kids and how mature they are and if they can handle it.

"This was a fun movie about lawyers and troubled women"
There might be a few scenes starring one female character named, "Madea" But don't worry, these moments are rare and usually forgotten. Its a powerful movie that tries to keep it light hearted with some scenes of humor. the majority of the swears in this are swears that some kids hear everyday. Its all about the family that is watching.

This is the first tyler perry madea film I have watched and I thought this movie was funny!! Tyler Perry comes out with a bang with directing and playing Mabel Simmons AKA (MADEA)

Two different stories...
I think this is a pretty hard movie to review… since its basically two very different stories. One is very funny about Madea actually going to jail but the other is about a prostitute who has some very scary experiences. It depends on your kid and how sensitive they are.

Madea Goes to Jail review by critic07
I thought this movie made a very clear message that you can do whatever you set your mind to. Although this movie did have inappropriate things like prostitues and sexual violence it sent a very good clear message. :]

Madea Goes to Jail review by critic2
This movie set a very clear message and is a very good movie to explain what life is about to your kids. In this movie there was some pimp's and prostitues. This movie shows that you can overcome bad choices you have made in your life and turn things around for yourself. I loved it!

Interesting...
The movie starts out with two problems: 1) Madea doing something bad, which is totally expected, then 2) A prostitute in trouble. Madea should've gone to jail, but gets off easily like usual, but before that the prostitute (Candy) isn't helpful in deciding she shouldn't go to jail, but somebody bails her out, an old school friend. Throughout the movie, the old school friend does his best to help Candy, but is scolded by his fiance. Crazy Mr. Brown tries to help Madea, but it doesn't work. Halfway through, Candy decides to turn her life around, get a job and get some help with her problems. It's a mix of good role models and some innapropriate things.

Fun movie for family night!
This movie is great...it teaches morals..and forgiveness...how to help people and how to overcome the past and except the future! This movie is so FUNNY! yes it has some potty mouth words in it that are very minor but it is still okay for kids 13 and up.

I really enjoyed it. I just wished they focused on Madea a little more. There was just one bad scene were the girl was in bed with a guy on top of her. 9+

Tyler Perry's more mature than funny.
Tyler Perry has a reputation of putting humor with mature themes here i think he puts more mature themes than humor and that makes the movie flimsy but madea makes some good laughs. I say that you can rent it although most people have seen it.

WOW!
Good movie!! This was probably my first movie by him. I really enjoyed it. It was sad and funny. There wasn't much violence but most of it was comic and funny. There was talk about some sexual stuff and prostitutes. Madea curses alot but other than that it was really good!
