This film is okay, but all of the scares rely on pop-out scenes and loud noises. This film is actually kind of boring. There is some violence including one stabbing, and some sexual talk. The unrated version features a sex scene between Casey and her boyfriend.

The Truth.
The truth is it wasn't that bad at all. Most kids 12+ would eligible to witness this media production. sexuality and drinking are higher up, but most media is worse then this movie. It has scary content not advised for children 11 and younger. Violence is higher up then other things but it is a horror movie and thats whats to be expected. there is very little blood. This is a good movie for teens 13+.

Intended for older audiences
I have watched this movie before and there is a lot of scary content such as the case of the dybbuk. Here is an abridged explanation of the dybbuk from Wikipedia. In Jewish folklore, a dybbuk is a malicious possessing spirit, believed to be the dislocated soul of a dead person. Resource: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dybbuk The film is academically incorrect about the issue of demonic possession because a demonically possessed person usually speaks in an unknown voice other than their own voice. An example would be the speech patterns of African witch doctors practicing Voodoo. One of the commendable values depicted in The Unborn include the self-sacrificing willingness of Rabbi Joseph Sendak (portrayed by Gary Oldman) to assist Casey Beldon (portrayed by Odette Yustman) with her struggles.

Couldn't wait was on location .....
The movie was a little slow especially after I seen it while it was being shot on some scenes overall good story line ...the old unborn movie came out in 1991 some cliches were taken from this one special effects were on point but overall not enough blood but part 2 was setup rather nicely.

SNORE/YAWN FEST skip this movie.
OKAY--the movie STUNK big time. It was NOT scary at all. It was so BORING the people in front of us started talking and no one in the theatre cared because their conversation was more interesting than the movie! There is a scene in the movie where a very old woman (so old she lives in an assisted living center) is being chased down the hall by a demon and she is hobbling!!! How scary can a scene be when it a old person is barely hobbling and the demon can't catch her??? seriously. MOST of the scary scenes in the previews were taken from NIGHTMARES the main character has. I don't know about you but other peoples nightmares do NOT scare me. The filming was done in the "B" movie low-budget fashion, meaning it looked like somebody filmed this for a school project. The dialogue was not very good either. Definitely written by an amateur. The audience started talking back to the movie like we were doing a MST 3K spoof. I had thought that since Michael Bay (Transformers) produced it, it was going to be non- stop action and thrills. But it was more like non-stop yawns and snores. NO ONE who was in the theatre liked it. As we were exiting the theatre everybody was commenting how bad the movie was. I won't even recommend renting it. If I could give this movie negative stars it would be at least a -5

A few scares, but not worth your time.
A good idea but terrible execution. The Unborn was a completely predictable horror movie; you could see plot turns from a mile away. A few unnecessary sexual jokes that weren't funny. Poor acting, poor script. I'd recommend this movie to genre fans, but otherwise, don't waste your time on this one.

Not bad for a teen fright
It's not a bad movie for tweens or teens. They use (3) curse words, "BS", the 'F' word and the 'S' word. They use a sexual reference word of "wood." There is an "implied" sex scene where you see the girl lying on her boyfriend's chest after it has happened. There is a kissing scene, little tongue, very unnecessary though. Also- the girl is seen at least 3 times in her boy leg brief panties and pajama top; again, unnecessary, she could have thrown on some pajama pants. Lots of jumpy scenes for the girls to scream at. Fun and interesting storyline to follow. Does talk about evil entities, ghosts and superstition. A "know your child movie." I am a very strict parent when it comes to my children seeing movies which is why I or my husband has to see them first before we allow them to go with their friends. The youngest age for movie is a mature 13 yr old but if your child is questionable, 14 yrs old would be better. Definitely not a movie for we adults. I think it may bore adults. Much too frightening for younger kids. Graphic pictures and picture distortion all throughout the movie.

Bottom Line: The unborn is crap no matter which way you look at it.
The unborn is terrible and repulsive in every way. It fails on every opportunity and everything is just garbage starting with the characters. I shouldn't have been fooled by the false advertising. Luckily, I only paid a buck to see it. Sexual content is very inappropriate. There is a scene that implies that a couple just had sex, you see their shoulders up to their head and their whole bodies are covered by a blanket. Although in the unrated cut you see five seconds showing the characters having sex, but it isn't graphic and would still warrant a PG-13 rating. There are numerous suggestive references that flirt with an R rating sometimes. A man says that a girl's glasses are giving him "wood" implying an erection. Another girl comments on a girl's pubic region. A woman tells a man that her dad won't be home, implying premarital sex. Violence, while not grotesque or bloody, is still strong. There are several images of disturbing images and a murder committed. The whole plot deals about an unborn child that haunts her sister, for her brother not being born. Language is also inappropriate as well. Characters say the b word, use scatological terms, drop the f bomb once, and use very crude and sexual references. There are no positive role models, nor messages.
- I rate this title on for age 9 and give it
This movie was entertaining and was definitley tame for a horror movie. I'm sure kids 9 and above could handle it. As long as you go through the talk about its not real. They should be fine. mostly jump scares anyway.

I loved it (kinda)
Me and my friend went to go see it yesterday. Haha we screamed a lot. There were only us and two other people in the theater, I feel bad that they had to put up with us two weirdos. It's one of those movies you have to think about to understand. The bathroom scene is disgusting, at least that's what it looked like through my fingers. It reminds me of "The Exorcist" a little bit. The movie's ending sucked a lot and the little kid in the raincoat creeped me out because of a fear of kids in raincoats but creative plot... The grandma shouldn't have died!!! One thumb half way up.

an entertaining film
This movie was pretty good. There was no gore instead had amazing camera work and very good images. The plot was origonal and it was not inaproppiat for an average 13 year old
- I rate this title iffy for age 12 and give it
one of the best horror movie that has come out in a while
ok lets put it this way. compared to amazing gems like the sixth sense and the ring this movie isnt THAT great. But with movies like saw, one missed call, pulse, and the eye coming out this movie is much better. Its nice to watch a scary movie once in a while that isnt focosing of gore( in fact its almost gore free) or sex( there are some suggestions but none is shown). This movie is very scary so its not for elemantary students but for middle school and above this movie is a real treat!
