This is another movie about race that features a white leading character and passive minorities dependent on the white man's benevolence. The message is that those Indians should be grateful for Nicholas Cage not hating them. Not to mention the stereotypical treatement of Native American life, with their connected-ness-to-nature and quirky ceremonies and junk. If all this weren't damning enough, it was horribly dull and even though it was the only movie available to see in Hanoi at the time I wished I hadn't wasted the forty cents admission price, and gotten a bowl of soup instead.
this movie is freaking awesome and should be seen by children. they need to see the sacrifices that were made by people so that they could have freedom
nicholas Cage does a great job in this film. the violence is very graphic but realistic. lots of people are killid with gun. some are killed brutally and graphically with a knife. the language is like a typical war movie. lots of "f" words. also there is racial comments. this movie great, very well done. if you like war movies especially on World War 2, you would love this movie.
I wouldn't waste time and money getting this. Like all WW2 movies, there was waaaaaaaayy to much swearing! Swearing in movies is un-needed, but this has a LOT. Also it went along the theme of 'Saving Private Ryan' which I did not like at all. Nicholas Cage and the Navajos are good, but too much swearing, to much drinking, too much blood 'n guts. Too bad cuz it could have been a good movie.
