Very bad language, almost nonstop use of f**k and other obsenities throughout, there is quite a bit of violence, but in all fairness it's a war movie.
Many characters smoke and drink often, Enders gets drunk on Sakki and is seen taking shots with a woman before they ship out.
But all in all, just like the mpaa says, 17+
This is the worst war film I've ever seen. Even though the battle scenes are realistic it doesn't help this film when the acting is terrible. Suitable for 12/13+, but they'd probably be better off watching something else.
When I saw this movie on the rack at the store, I thought "Awesome, a movie about the famous windtalkers in Saipan!" When I Saw the movie though, all those thoughts went down the toilet. The acting was horrible, every explosion was a fiery ball of death, the battles were absolutely unrealistic. I still laugh at Nicholas Cage's face when he gets mad and shoots that Japanese on fire. Just try and stay away from this movie!!!
Yes, yes, I know that there is cussing in it. Its just like COD Black Ops. And you have to realise that this is a WAR MOVIE! And the drinking should not be a problem. The guy likes his drink! People hype to much on drinking and smoking.
The movie has great war scenes, yet the language is strong and it has plenty of racial comments. Apart from that, it has a great message, and it teaches how war was like in WWII.
Windtalkers is entertaining, interesting, and brutal. The violence is pervasive and graphic, with lots of blown off limbs and heads, charred corpses, and bloody shootings and stabbings. Some of the soldiers seem to enjoy war and killing, while others have difficulty bringing themselves to kill. Not a bad choice for war movie fans. Suggested MPAA rating: R for Graphic war violence throughout, language, and some gruesome images.
