What’s the Story?

Most people probably feel that there have been enough reinterpretations of Dickens' A Christmas Carol to last all of us many, many lifetimes. But the good folks at Disney must disagree because they've made this Easter story into yet another tale of past, present, and future, complete with redemptive ending. Standing in for Scrooge this time is Rabbit, who has decided that Easter will be replaced with Spring Cleaning Day. His pals from the Hundred Acre Wood are heartbroken, and led by little Roo, they go about helping Rabbit to see the error of his ways.

WINNIE THE POOH: SPRINGTIME WITH ROO is harmless, colorful, and cute, with some songs and some silliness and some moments designed to tug your heartstrings. Ultimately how much you enjoy this story will depend on how you feel about Easter and how you feel about the Disney version of Pooh. If you love them both, this is a winner. If you're an A.A. Milne fan, you might be happier re-reading one of the books.
